Luigi's Pizza Taber — Restaurant in Alberta

Don’t waste your time eating here (and if you do be prepared to have lots of time to spare).....

A couple days ago my husband and I went to Luigi’s for lunch. We walked in and stood in the front entry for well over 10 minutes and were never acknowledged by staff. The restaurant appeared dead and we were unable to locate a staff member so we ended up leaving without being seated.

Last night a friend and I decided to try again. (Maybe the earlier experience was a one off...). Again the restaurant was near empty and yet we waited a long time to find a staff member to seat us. The service we received was minimal. She took our drinks and meal orders. That was it...literally. After our meals were put on the table we never saw service again. We never received a refill on our drinks, we had to find our own napkins and cutlery and our plates were never cleared. Finally we decided to head to the front to attempt to pay our bill and found ourselves standing around without any staff to help us. It was not until I went into the back to flag down a staff member and request we pay our bill that we had any other service. When we expressed our frustration we were advised that our server had gone home for the night...that’s right...she placed our meals on the table then left us without any service and went him.

Due to this appalling service I would not recommend this...

We went here for supper around 5pm and were waited on fairly quickly at first. Well time keep ticking away and it was about 40 minutes and we thought wow they are slow here. Well in the meantime couple sat in the next booth and within 10 minutes they were served both our meals while we sat there wondering why they got served before us. They made a mistake and gave these people our order and of course never come to the table to tell us this. Well a few minutes later the owner comes out with appetizers and for us which was the appetizers for the next table. We told her that is not ours and she walked away confused. Well a few minutes went by and she comes back out with the appetizers for the couple next to us which they served our meal too. We now knew we would have to wait another 20 minutes to get our meal which would have been over a hour to get it so we left and they will never see us there again. Maybe next time look after your customers and be upfront and honest rather then hiding...

Excellent service and the food was great. We arrived and were seated immediately. Our drink orders were taken and arrived soon. Food order was taken and food arrived fairly quickly. Party of 4, we ordered pastas and a veal cutlet. Food was hot, which was excellent, I like my pasta to come out hot. Taste was awesome and as expected. I loved my chicken fettuccini. The atmosphere was nice, good for small groups and for large. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back if I'm in the area again. If I could change anything, I'd change to better cutlery. Food and service outmatch...
