Market Cafe — Restaurant in Alberta

This place was recently-ish renovated and looks nice. The service was mediocre however was disappointed by the hot chocolate. It was the worst I've ever had. Do NOT get the hot chocolate unless they change up the way they make it. Charging at almost $5 for one, it was made of steamed milk with chocolate syrup (the type you use to drizzle on top of a drink to create a design - more of a decorative type. Not even the nesquick style). Would not even call this hot chocolate as the syrup sinks to the bottom, doesn't mix and tastes extremely artificial. This would be a 1 star review if the chocolate croissant I'd ordered wasn't as delicious as it was. I should've read the other reviews before ordering from here. I ordered a beef on a bun sandwich. It was frozen in the middle. When I returned to have it warmed up, they said that it was because "the fridge was so cold"... which makes no sense. It's clear that the sandwich was frozen (lettuce and all) and defrosting in their fridge. When my sandwich was warmed up, the lettuce and tomato became a slimy gross mess and I found a piece of paper in my sandwich. I would not order...

I just love this little Market Cafe inside the Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. It is the perfect place to grab a coffee/tea and some freshly made sweet treats. The have a rotating seasonal drink menu with fun creations to try. There are a few tables & chairs indoors to sit or you can walk out onto the main patio grounds of the lodge. They have several food options for made-to-order and some grab-and-go packages as well. They also stock local craft sodas and kombucha...
