I really wanted to like this place as itās attcahed to the Nordic Spa where I was spending an amazing birthday in the mountains. Im giving two stars for the service and the interior is lovely. The big cozy couches are soft and comfortable. Thatās where the positivity stops. The food...the food. Oh my god Iāve never been so insulted by a menu item in my life. Iām not even kidding. The menu flat out lies about their product. I donāt mind paying premium prices for a destination experience so long as the quality of the food reflects the price tag. Their menu states that the charcuterie bard came with āhouse pickled veg and grilled artichokeā. What we received was (not even kidding) two small gherkin pickles (the little, sweet ones from a jar) and a tablespoon of canned artichoke. There was still water on the artichokes from the can they came out of. Now, if youāre going to say youāre serving house pickled veg and grilled artichoke, and turn around and serve canned and jarred product and charge $28 for it, not only is that bad practice, but itās out right lying. As a diner, Iāve never felt personally insulted by a dish before. This is probably one of the worst food experiences Iāve ever had. Just be up front with your menu and donāt sell it for something itās not and then charge an inflated price. I will visit the Nordic spa again but I will not patronize this bistro ever again and I will advise future guests to avoid this dishonest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA group of friends and I went to the Nordic Spa in January and had lunch halfway through our day at the Two Trees Bistro. I have been to the Nordic Spa about eight times, and every time I've wanted to try the Bistro, but never felt hungry or compelled enough to go in. We went on a Monday, and the spa itself wasn't overly busy, but the inside of the Bistro was pretty full. The furniture was comfortable, staff was friendly, and background music was exactly what you would think would be playing at a spa--think a non-scary "Tubular Bells".
We tried to order a number of the drink items on the menu, but there were quite a few things that "they were out of". So clearly the menu needed to be reprinted. I think there was only one food menu item they didn't have. The food arrived quickly, we didn't feel pressured at all to be quick or leave. We tried the cheeseboard and meat charcuterie, and one of the desserts. A friend tried the Croque Nordic, and I had the Chicken Panini. The food was pretty great, but a little pricey for what they offered. Really, it was a good experience, and something I was happy to try once. But not something I would likely do again.
The bar in the actual hotel has really great food for quite reasonable prices and would urge you to consider doing a day at the spa and capping it off with a burger (and banana bread...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food, although overpriced (what do you expect though) was really good. the wine is insanely over priced, and the beer selection could be a bit better, again what do you expect though with only one dining option š.
We had the croque Nordic and the salmon gravlax. The salmon looked and tasted great. The croque tasted good, but the presentation was lacking for a $23 sandwich. The side option is either salad (greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions) or soup of the day for an additional $7. Moxies offers a better side salad - this was enraging - add some walnuts or goat cheese to make it passable for the dining experience youāre trying to offer.
The service was good, the server was a bit overwhelmed when we were there but no real complaints.
It just seems like a little bit of care could go into the dishes to add a premium experience for the premium price the guests are forced to pay. If not for covid, when guests could leave the spa and re enter, I would recommend people pack their own lunch or visit the other on site restaurants. Since itās locked down for covid, either go hungry or go to the bistro.
The food tastes good in general, with some small disappointments - and expected Ofer priced items since itās an exclusive venue in...
