I usually never leave negative reviews but my experience here was honestly shocking. First of all there was two waitresses, both running around frantically almost, and it was not very busy in the restaurant, like 3-4 tables. They could not answer any of our very basic questions about menu items, they didnโt even know which soda drinks they had, and they had no idea what came with any of the menu items, how many pieces, what type of noodles etc. So then we ordered two Miso soups to start, and they came out COLD, I have no idea how, as the bowls were cold too, it was very obvious. We also ordered waters, and the waitress forgot about them, we had to remind her after 20 minutes of waiting for them. We almost just got up to leave as it was taking a while and we were confused and shocked by the service. I previously worked as a waitress and hostess, and I have never witnessed anything like this before, even from people on their first day as a waitress. Wanted to put this out there for the owners and anyone wanting to dine in here. It appeared they had zero training at all and it was their first day, with no management present. I know they were busy with take-out orders too, but they could have had one person on the phone/orders, and one person on the...
ย ย ย Read moreWe popped in for a quick dinner. I had the spicy ramen and my partner had veggie tempura.
The spicy ramen appeared to be the tonkotsu ramen with a bit of chili oil or chopped chili. It was tasty enough but not something I would line up for. The sliced pork tasted a bit like it was trying to be chashu but didn't really pull it off. There were a couple spinach leaves for color I guess but would have appreciated more vegetables, spinach or corn. The soft boiled egg was also good but not marinated as is traditional. Finally, for $16, I was still hungry after having this smallish bowl of ramen. So I ordered a plate of gyoza which were very hot and tasty but there was literally a teaspoon of dipping sauce which I'd consumed with the second gyoza. I ended up using the leftover dipping sauce from my partners tempura which I actually found was quite fishy in flavor. I'm not sure if fish sauce is a normal ingredient in tempura dipping sauce.
Other than the dipping sauce, the tempura was nice and hot and crispy and a good portion.
Overall, we'll be back but I don't think the ramen was good value and I'll try...
