Popeyes Louisiana Chicken — Restaurant in Alberta

Thought I would give it another chance. It was opening day when we went. Now there's a 15 cent bag charge at the window. I feel they are now taking advantage of us. The so called "bag fee" may be costing the mayor of Calgary her job no one is thinking that a whole lot of thought went into it. As a company that wants to make sure the customer enjoys Thier product you would think a customer that is paying top dollar for food wouldn't want to have the hassle of finding a way to get it home. I assume this company wouldn't want to take advantage of its paying customers by saving 2 cents on a bag. The confused often bewildered Mayor of Calgary flat out made a dumb decision companies that hoped on her band wagon aren't very intelligent.. Let me explain this for you... Bags are helpful with carrying your food into the house for your family.. It's like a tool. Imagine if you hired a guy to come nail a picture on your wall. Then he told you his price but there was going to be an extra charge for his use of his hammer. You would pay him because he is there and the picture needs hung.. BUT do you call the same guy back when you need another picture hung.. I hope this makes sense to you. Because your chicken isn't that great and the fact you are ripping people off 15 cents and losing 100s of dollars by them going elsewhere to companies who want the customer to enjoy the ease of getting their meal home to their family Hot and not making 4 trips back to the car. If you feel the need to make us feel like idiots so be it. You won't last long in Okotoks there is no "Bag Fee" here and you are looking as dumb as the Mayor of Calgary does right now.. NOT A SMART...

I love going to Popeyes in Seton and other locations, always fresh and juicy and huge chicken pieces. The D’Arcy, Okotoks location has given me sandwiches that the chicken looked like it was split in half. I have gone through the drive through twice when they asked me to wait at the order board, but there was no one ahead of me or any reason I wouldn’t pull to the window right away. Today I ordered online from the parking lot, walked inside, watched 6 people make orders. Once they were done I asked for my drink cup so I could fill it myself. I then waited five more minutes and still my order wasn’t ready. The nice girl at the front asked me if I was waiting for something, and I explained to them I ordered before all the six people that just ordered and it had been five minutes and they were all eating but I’m still waiting. A man said it hadn’t been the 15 min window yet. I then watched the same man and another employee work underneath the equipment next to the fryer making my strips. It beeped…... The front staff had to prompt them to get the strips out. So after being on their hands and knees on the floor, they finally get my strips my strips out of the fryer😬 All this took 22 or 23 mins to get me my order. Well beyond “15 min window”.

I may have been able to squeeze an extra star for the polite woman in the front. However I find it disrespectful to speak in a different language in front of customers who are unhappy and your own staff that doesn’t speak...

Last Thursday I drove from High River to the Okotoks Popeyes. I ordered 8 breasts to go , paid the additional charge waited 20 min (which is fine , I'm happy to wait for fresh ), and drove home with my order . Upon opening it there were 4 breasts , 2 backs and 2 wings . I called back immediately and was told they had a trainee on the cooking station , that was the cause of the error . But they would give me 6 breasts on my next visit at no charge . That seemed very reasonable, I gave her my name and number to record and thanked her for her kind gesture. I returned 4 days later not wanting to let too much time go by , lest the promise be forgotten. The general manager greeted me at the counter and I began to explain what had occurred. He seemed dismissive but agreed to what was promised . I also ordered 2 large mac and cheese , more to put some money back in as my thanks for providing 6 free breasts. After 15 min ,I was called to pick up my order and drove home . Again upon opening it there was 3 breasts and 3 backs .... not 6 breasts . The mac and cheese was so overcooked it was inedible. We tossed the mac and cheese out and did eat the chicken which was just fine although not what was ordered. We have decided not to bother calling back nor will we ever return . It has been suggested that we should have checked our order before leaving . Perhaps if it was a very complex order , but it was just breasts . It just shouldn't be...
