TacoTime — Restaurant in Alberta

I'm glad there is a Taco Time here. Their portions are okay and the food is tasty but they don't give you sour cream or it's not free. The food could be much better.

Update Feb 23, 2024 I usually order the Big Stuff because i like the mexi fries in it with the deluxe toppings. Today I could barely find any mexi fries in it and it was full of RICE... which I dont like at all. It made me feel like they just filled it with their scraps. Like I wouldnt notice. Nervous about getting take out from there now.

Update March 24, 2024 My son who has special needs told me the owners of Taco Time asked him about my review. They approached him at his work. He didnt know I had submitted one. He is the one who always picks up take out orders for us. I noticed that the owners respond to every 5 star reviewer. I dont think those are the reviews that need a response. I think those who were not happy deserve their attention. I personally would like some assurance that they are worth taking a chance on again. I dont want to pay for an order again that will end up in the garbage. Or think that they take advantage of people with disabilities because they wont "notice". Personally I dont care how much the item costs. I just want what I paid for. Id like to know if the Big Stuff now comes with rice instead...

What has happened to the food? I don't like the new menu. Why does everything have sour cream on it? Beef burrito should be beef on a burrito. Why is there green and white paste on it as well? Also, $17 for a single take out lunch is a little high.

March 31, 2022 (updated rating drops to 1 star): Well, 5 months after the prevous review and ... the food is worse. The bean burrito was green and brown sloppy mud; no flavor, no texture, and the messiest oozing glob that I have ever eaten (I could not stand to finish it). The beef burrito is almost as sloppy, and only a tiny bit more flavorful. My real disappointment, and the real reason I used to enjoy Taco Tim, is their hot sauce. Unfortunatelt that spicy red deliciousness is gone as well. The new version of the red sauce is watery, bland, and does not stick to the mexi-fries at all.

Whether these problems are franchise wide, or the result of this particular location's desire to water everything down in an attempt to increase profits is unknown. I hope it is location specific, because that means things...

Had to go back 3x to get what I ordered. The employee was extremely rude and annoyed with me - even though this was their mistake. I called them back before returning for a 3rd time and she told me I must bring back the incorrect order as they need to “put it back into inventory”. I questioned it, and the employee told me it was protocol. I explained that’s against food safety, and asked if it would be throw out. She repeated again as per their policy it must be put back into inventory and if I did not return the incorrect order then I would not receive my correct meal. We won’t be back. Extremely rude people, 1 hour to get our correct order and they re-serve food that has been returned....
