As the name stands it’s a rustic bakery in the middle of Algonquin highlands. Was searching for a local bakery this morning on google maps and this gem pop out. Stopped by this morning and had raspberry cheese cake, chocolate fudge cheese cake, cheddar cheese croissant, wild berry scone and coffee. All the items were so fresh. My mom who had the croissant told this has been the best she has ever tasted. Wild berry scone was so moist inside and crispy on the outside with a berry popping out on each bite. Both the cheese cake tasted so great we are planning to visit them tomorrow again before heading back home. They also have a frozen section with package items to take home and lot of pie options. They accept only cash or debit.

You had me at Cherry Pie! Sure, they have lots of other delicious baked goods - turnovers and tarts came with us as well,of course... Apologies to my mother, but that may have been the best cherry pie I've ever had. Flaky crust, sweet filling naturally, but not so sweet as to hide the tartness of those sour cherries. I feel I may be doing a disservice to lovers of other baked goods with my cherry pie obsession. However, if the pie is that good I'm comfortable suggesting that any choice from the Country Bakery will delight! August 19, 2024 M, R, G, Y, C, S, M, F, C & J

Yummy. Excellent variety and service. Kicking horse coffee. Good value. Enjoy! Was too excited to eat so some items missing from the box. Went to their new location (well new to me) in the church with antiques to peruse. Loved it. And the baked goods were just as good as the last time I visited. I highly recommend the beef roll with the mustard dip.

This is a lovely little place ! Everything we have tried has been amazing - croissants, scones, cookies and breads. We had occasion to order a birthday cake , a first from this bakery, and it was delicious, beautifully decorated and the most dreamy buttercream icing - the way a cake should be ! LOL Everyone enjoyed it !

The owner and staff are very helpful and friendly. Support local businesses and order ahead if you want to make sure you get your stash...items sell out fast - another telling sign of how good everything is ...and really good cold coffee as well !

Thank-you ladies , my Mom and I always enjoy our visits !

Warm regards,

Rita

PS. Thank-you for your patient, kindness and accommodation when we used to bring our Dad...

After years of visiting the Halls Lake area and enjoying the treats at Country Bakery, it was with great trepidation that I returned this summer, having gone from vegetarian to vegan. It's my decision and I am perfectly aware that the VAST majority of baked goodies (outside of my kitchen and specialty bakeries) will no longer be a part of my life. I was prepared to give my partner sad puppy dog eyes as he savoured the bakery's treats...BUT they had vegan brownies (gluten free, which I don't care about, but others will) that made my mouth water. Seriously dense with quality chocolate and not too sweet. I bought 3 for the long weekend and they're gone in 1.5 days. Fingers crossed...
