Been there on a Saturday afternoon, around 4:30 and mind that they close at 7 PM. We've placed an order for 4 persons and asked if we could pick up the order at 6:45 PM. The lady taking the order said plain ok and then proceeded to tell another employee that everyone wants the same thing, to pick up at 6:45PM. Did not appreciate the comment insinuating that is customers fault for their lack of organization. 🤨 We came back at 6:42 and announced them, at the pick up window, that we are there and whenever they can, we are ready to pick up the food, which happened not sooner than 15 mins later 🙄 Now moving on to the food, I must say there is no difference between French fries and "homemade" fries other than the type of cut. Both of them were the frozen type you buy from supermarket. The beef liver was extremely thin cut and way overcooked, most probably they've finished the food way earlier and kept it in a warm area which added the dryness to the entire dish, including the bacon. The chicken breast wasn't as they promote - "smothered" in tomatoes sauce, barely had a spoonful of it. This is how you get rich nowadays, by "stealing" on the quantity of the ingredients you put in a dish? We did appreciate receiving some carrots as the "vegetables" given as a side for the main dishes, however if you only know to boil carrots in salted water and skip the sautee part in butter, you shouldn't call yourself a Chef. Dear Mill Pond, Even though you've been on the market for so many moons, you are cutting corners badly, despite the not so low prices. The dryness of the food, that's on the kitchen staff, serving frozen potatoes as "homemade" fries, that's the...
Read moreI called today at 2:07 pm and placed an order for 9 meals and some sides for pick up. The female worker taking the order on the phone even commented about how big the order is. I told her my husband would pick up the order shortly. After 15 minutes my husband walks into the restaurant and for some unknown reasons to me places the same order with the only female worker at the desk. Once his order is ready, she asked him if it is possible that someone placed the same order on the phone. My husband called me and once he learned about the misunderstanding and heard from the employee that she would have to throw one order out, offered to pay for both orders out of the goodness of his heart. I really would like to know how could the employee or even the cook not put the two huge orders which were placed within 15 minutes of each other together when the restaurant was only half full and ours was the only take out order at the time? this is complete incompetency at best. I wouldn't burn so much if we hadn't ended up with 18 mediocre meals and a huge pile of uneaten stale and unsalted fries because the lady had ignored my husband's request for ketchup and forgot to put some in the bags. This restaurant was the only horrible experience of...
Read moreSo yeah, it was about 6 hours after I finished my last bowl of loops and the need to eat again arrived with a vengeance. I ordered my crew back to the van and we headed over to The Mill Pond. Chad, my first officer, ordered the Breakfast Burger SMOTHERED in cheese. Like a shark tearing into an overweight surfer, Chad's eyes rolled back into his head as he vaporized his breakfast. Steve, my Science Officer and Controller of Cassette Tapes, decided on an omelette SMOTHERED in cheese with a side of extra Canadian Bacon. Steve, usually a taciturn chap - unless your talking about vintage analog synths - started rambling excitedly about his breakfast so much that an elderly man two tables over threw his plate at Steve's head and told him to shut up. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich SMOTHERED in cheese. Let me tell, you, the food overlords at The Mill Pond know exactly what they're doing. My sandwich was like receiving a gift from a celestial visitor. Bravo.
Days later, the newspapers reported our capture by a local police department after dumb-old Steve decided to strap himself to the top of the van as we drove through a small town 40 miles north...
