My wife and I stopped here on our way home from a night away. Right away, the hostess greeted us with a loud and firm attitude informing us how to order our food. I appreciated her directness, but I knew immediately that politeness or manners were not her forte. We ordered and seated ourselves. My wife got up to grab some water, but stepped aside to let another older patron walk by. The hostess was behind my wife and made some rude comment about being in way. No 'excuse me' or any indication that she was there. The hostess was delivering food to the table next to where they were standing, but again, there's no need to be rude to your guests. We received our food and it was amazing! It was fresh and delicious. Fantastic portions for the price and quality was great. Hollandaise was on point! Its unfortunate that the whole experience was soured due to poor manners and customer service. When we left, I said thank you to the hostess and she appreciated it. Thats when I saw some Anti Trudeau poster or something. It all made sense. Its probably Justin's fault as to why she is so sour. We probably would have visited this place again if it wasn't for the hostesses attitude or...

Great tasting KD breakfast pockets. Brought our 4 little kids in for a quick bite to go before heading out of town, thought we should try something local over Tim Hortons. We were greeted by the hostess who was abrupt and rather miserable, made us feel bad for coming in. For over $4 the americano tasted like water and my husband could not drink it. He didn’t want to approach the hostess due to her attitude. Very tough cinnamon buns that were hard to chew. When we ordered to go and wait aside for our food to be ready our daughters cinnamon buns arrived that she hadn’t realized would have raisins. Upon trying to retrieve utensils to remove the raisins the hostess sharply said “I thought you were doing take out” questioning us. Anytime we spoke to her, we were polite and had a smile on our face but it was always met with rudeness. Very...

Delicious home cooked meals! I eat a lower carb diet. The owner/chef is wonderfully accommodating! My favourite is a 3 egg, cheese omelet with pork sausage, mushrooms and green onion. No toast or potatoes. I get grilled tomatoes instead. The coffee here, including their decaf Americano, is superb! And they sell bags to take home. I love how I’m treated at this cafe. From the moment I walk in the door, I feel welcome. Even though it’s fast-food style/tray service, you still feel cared for! Generally a quiet cafe, KD’s is perfect for the hard of hearing. On a warm day, you can enjoy your meal or a coffee, outside on their patio. I’ve seen customers, on the patio, with their dog too (how cool is that?) If, during these messed up times, you’re looking to feel welcomed with open arms, bring your business to KD’s. Highly...

It moved locations. It is no longer on Bellevue, but now just down the road on Alberni Hwy (towards Church Road) where TopSpot Diner used to be. I ordered the breakfast at 3pm on a Sunday. Their eggs are sourced from local farm, from free roaming chickens. The photo is the traditional breakfast. The atmosphere is nice, easy going friendly staff, who don’t bug you too much but there when you need them. (There’s one review on here about paying beforehand, that was not my experience. I was greeted and got to choose where I would like to sit. They come with menus, offer drinks…pay after I eat; they come to my table with the pinpad) Food came quickly. Overall, I would go back! I’d love to try some other things on their menu.

We’ve been meaning to try KD’s and wish we had come sooner. Great local breakfast and lunch spot. We’re all day breakfast people, so we dropped in for a late brunch. Easy to order as you walk in and the menu is on the board, you order and the lovely server will bring your food. We both had the bacon and egg benny … which was done to perfection as were the shredded hash browns. This sweet spot is a bit out of the way, but well worth it. Support this local business.

I was pumped up to try this place with all the good reviews I first read, but was disappointed due to the abrupt and unfriendly hostess and the greasy omelette that tasted like the previously made elk or bison meat. Also disappointed at the need to serve your own coffee from a large coffee urn! The atmosphere was ok with some funky unique decor and smooth jazz to enjoy however not enough to come back unfortunately.
