Haven't been here in several months so this is a bit of a delayed review. This review is based on numerous visits between approximately early 2022 and January of 2024. There is an enormous language barrier with all staff we encountered except for their former employee james who was professional and fluent in english. Generally speaking if there is a lineup of customers it takes an excessive amount of time to even have your sub prepared. Mostly due to lack of listening/understanding of their customers. Several of the ladies in there have been abrupt to the point of rudeness when asked to properly prepare our subs. In the past they have repeatedly attempted to put RAW bacon on my BLT sub when being asked to microwave the bacon. They shorted my husbands cold cut TRIO and all they gave him was salami. On a separate occasion he asked for guacamole which never got added but was charged to the order. Because this is Assiniboias only Subway location we wanted to give them a sincere chance prior to writing a negative review. However Google reviews need to be factual and this has truely been our experience. This could be an exceptional location if staff were hired that can communicate fluidly in english, and actually had an interest in preparing food properly and to their customers requirements. A big disappointment if it continues to be run in the same manner as our last visit. Further, having taken food safety and WHIMIS in the past we observed very little in the way of safe food handling or cleaning protocols occurring at all over a total of approximately 12 visits to this specific location between 2022 and 2024. Read moreI'm absolutely disgusted with the service and attitude of the employees at Subway in Assiniboia, the last 3-4 times ive gone, they act like they hate their job, they slowly move to get things, and act as though it is an inconvience that a customer walked in. This was not the first time I've felt this way, but I was with my family on Saturday and the attitude of the employees was ridiculous, they were cold and argumentative. We were getting salads made and I had asked for them to cut the vegetables because i have small children who are not going to put a whole tomato or cucumber in their mouth, to which they replied that chopping salad was discontinued.. how do you discontinue taking a knife- which you have right infront of you and cutting vegetables.. then when I insisted that they can use the knife that they have to cut vegetables because that is indeed what knives are meant for, after that they continued with attitude and nasty looks, if I didn't have my hungry children and husband with me I would've left.. you've definitely lost a customer, due to poor and rude customer service on more then one occasion, this is just the time I chose to write about because it really pissed me off to be frank, and I hope you speak to your staff about their customer service and professionalism. If you do not want a job and are not happy to be there and do it with a smile then find somewhere...
Read moreTerrible service. Despite being the only person in the store, i had to wait 10 minutes just to be able to speak with someone who worked there. I asked for a soup and she told me it would be 7 minutes until it was ready. So i left for about 10 minutes or so, and when i returned waited another 10 minutes for her to finally appear at the counter. In the meantime another customer had been waiting but left because she hadn't seen any staff working there and didn't have time to wait any longer for allele to finally appear and take her order. When the lady working there finally did come out from the back it took probably another 5 minutes to get my bowl of soup ready, plus another 3 minutes to get me a spoon after i had to ask for one.
