Super Wok — Restaurant in Aylmer

Very disappointed with our last visit to Super Wok Chinese Buffet in Aylmer. The restaurant has great food but they have a Buffet one night a week being Friday night. They need to be more organizing with getting the buffet stocked up. If you go at 5pm not all the food is in the buffet so you wait. They are way too busy with take out. The either need more help or have certain duties assigned to the waitresses. We arrived at 5:30pm on Friday evening had our first plate by the time we went for our second time to buffet everything was empty. The waitresses were too busy with take out orders to let them know the buffet was empty. No soup , no rice, no chicken wings etc. The place was packed We waited for food for over 40 minutes. We were still hungry got up and paid. We complained and we didn't even get a discount. Sobwe went to Mac Donald's because we were still hungry. This kind of service is totally unacceptable. They need yo get their shit together. There were lots of angry people. Not sure what Super Woks issues are if they don't want to waste food. When they do bring out the chicken wings they bring out 12 and there gone in 2 minutes. They need to continuedly have that buffet stocked up. Very disappointed in the service. Not going back until they know how to run a buffet properly. We mentioned to the waitress about our service not her fault but the waitresses take all the hest and the owners hide in the kitchen. We pre-ordered on Boxing Day for pick up. It was our first time at this establishment, as we live in St. Thomas and have a decent option available to us for Chinese food.

We ordered:

2 chicken fried rice 1 chicken chop Suey 2 egg rolls 1 chicken ball 2 French fries (my husband is a child and feels that fries and Chinese food go hand in hand) 1 curry chicken 1 mixed vegetable 1 general tao chicken

Our total was $96. We opted to pay cash, as I noticed they offer a discount for doing so on pick-up. Unfortunately, we were advised that with the recent temporary tax break, they were not offering the cash discount. That doesn't make sense to me and it's advertised, so should have been honoured, but that's neither here nor there.

We waited about 20 mins after our pick up time for our food, but we had a good laugh with each other waiting on our food. The atmosphere was your typical Chinese food restaurant but there was a table over in the corner full of food and bones, which I can only assume from the look of it was from employees eating earlier in the day. Either way, it grossed me out looking at it. Thankfully no one was sat to order in that area.

The food itself was excellent! One of the best chicken balls I've had and the general tao chicken was perfection! The mixed vegetables were really good and offered a really nice selection of vegetables in it.

My husband said the curry was fairly runny/watery and packed full of vegetables but flavour wise it was okay.

We came for the Friday night buffet. The buffet table was mostly empty the whole time we were there. The veg and meat dishes were out of meat and others were dried to the pan. We asked if the buffet was going to be replenished and they said yes. A couple fried dishes were replenished. But not all. Our drinks were not refilled ever. There were MANY orders coming in for pick up and delivery. But we as customers dining in were being ignored. When we brought our concerns to their attention they still did not refill our drinks and we had to wait 10 min for the manager to come back from a delivery to decide what compensation there would be. The manager decided that we should only get one child’s meal discounted out in our bill. $20 off a $100 bill. They also said we had been in the restaurant for almost an hour so we had enough time. I explained that we were waiting for more food to come out. I asked the manager to come and see the dishes on the buffet that had not been replenished the entire time we were there.
