I’m honestly so disappointed in this restaurant, a place that used to be our go-to AYCE sushi for years, is now a place my family will never set foot again unless a miracle occurs and they get completely new management and staff.
Yesterday we went to the restaurant as a family of 5, we had made it half hour before the lunch menu ended, but ended up paying for the dinner menu. No problem there. The issue lies in the service and the super shady tipping scam that the restaurant seems to be implementing.
First of all, there is not one server who looks like they want to work there. You’re never greeted with a smile or any sort of welcoming presence. When they clear the plates they order you to pass them the plates, with no please, and no thank you’s; it’s improper server etiquette and anyone who’s worked in the service industry can tell you that.
After our meal, the server came to us with the bill. She punched everything in the machine leaving it ready for us to just tap. When we looked at the receipt, we noticed that we were being charged almost $30 in gratuity for a group of 5 people!! Not once were we told that this was a charge before eating and something that definitely hadn’t happened to us in the last years we had been going to the restaurant, until now. We asked the server about the charge and mumbled something about “company policy and grabbing her manager”. When the manger arrived at our table we told him that it is not fair that they are adding a charge that was never mentioned, not by the server and nowhere on the menu. He argued that it is company policy and that it is mandatory (which is not, especially as a group of 5) for every person that dines there to pay gratuity. When we asked him why is this a policy that’s being implemented now, the manager said that it’s always been policy and If we’ve gotten bills without that gratuity charge, they simply just “forgot to add it to the bill” before. We even mentioned the fact that we have seen several reviews that mention the sketchy tipping policy, and the manager asked us if “we really believe all of the reviews” that people leave on Google, practically saying that every bad review has been a lie.
After some rather intense back and forth, the manager dropped the gratuity charges for us. We told him that they need to start letting people know about this charge and not sneak it up on them because it’s super shady. I even asked him that if we don’t check they receipt and see that there is an extra charge and end up leaving $10 for the server would they deny it and say “no, you already paid me a tip”? Obviously not!! And he agreed with me!
Long story short: CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!!! If you decided to eat at this place, do not let them scam you by over tipping. Believe the reviews that you see on here, and be prepared by being alert. Or if you value good service and no sketchy business, I suggest you try another restaurant and stay far away...
Read moreAbsolute worst restaurant experience of my life.
After several ok visits to this establishment, we decided to try it again for dinner. We called and were told it’s $27 per person but if you pay cash it’s less then $25 per person.
When I arrived to the all you can eat with my husband and my 21 year old daughter I unfortunately started feeling light headed so after a few dishes to which I had only tasted two pieces of salmon sashimi I told the manager that I was not well and that he is ok to charge my family full price but that I’m unable to eat and would appreciate a break in the price.
The manager answered me in a robotic voice … “no I don’t think that’s possible.” Why not? I asked while holding my head feeling really unwell, well … with out making this into a long long long horrifying story which clearly it turned out to be. I’ll say this.
They not only not discounted our bill but they upped our charges with some weird service fee and knowing full well I was unwell they treated us like we were $$$$$ not humans . There was no sight or sign of humanity or empathy in this establishment.
Let me just conclude by saying this. We came out for the all you can eat experience. That’s a rare treat for our family who usually eat with low carb diet mindsets . So to arrive here and feel unwell and be treated the way we did was reassurance that it will be a long time before I ever even consider that type of a food choice ever again. Too bad I had to come across such horrible people especially when I could have used a kind gesture. We all suffered for two years , isn’t it sad that this establishment made me feel worse then I’ve felt in the entire world pandemic. If you read this and you walk through their doors, just make sure you remember that you are only a $ to them and that if you ever doubt it just read my story over and over again. Hope this will make you think twice about where you chose to entertain your bellies…

Read moreAfter visiting your restaurant recently, I would like to point out a health and safety concern regarding the utensils used to serve food and cold desserts. During the visit, pudding was served in a cracked plastic cup with broken edges, and the food was presented in a ceramic plate (farfoura) that appeared unsafe for use. These utensils pose a risk to the health of visitors for several reasons:
Cracked or broken plastic cups: Cracks in plastic are a primary source for bacterial and microbial growth, as they are difficult to clean thoroughly. Additionally, cracked plastic may release harmful chemicals, especially when in contact with hot beverages. Moreover, sharp edges can cause injuries to the mouth or hands during use. Damaged ceramic plates: Cracked or broken dishes, whether made of ceramic or porcelain, may contain small pores that are difficult to clean, increasing the risk of food contamination. These cracks can also lead to the leaching of harmful substances into the food when exposed to liquids or heat.
For the safety and health of customers, using damaged utensils may lead to serious health risks. Therefore, it is essential to take immediate action to replace damaged items and ensure the use of clean and safe utensils. Such practices not only impact the quality of service but also the restaurant’s reputation.
I would like to emphasize the importance of this matter and suggest paying closer attention to the health of visitors by ensuring the quality of the utensils used and making sure they are safe and clean. I also encourage other restaurants in the industry to be mindful of these issues to protect the health and safety of their customers.
Thank you for your attention, and I hope these observations are taken seriously to improve the experience for consumers and...
