Papa Joe and Evy's — Restaurant in Bathurst

We've been having breakfast here for a long time and today I was very disappointed with the food that was put in front of me. My eggs were very over cooked, my bacon was beyond the normal crispy usual, funny enough my potatoes were under cooked slightly( I had the regular potatoes) The ham was so thin and looked like they definitely cut costs somewhere. I think my future weekend breakfast will likely be had elsewhere or cooked by me at home because I cannot justify the price we paid (also charged 1.95+tax for potatoes on the grill) however, our server was nice :) when we mentioned our dissatisfaction the new owner mentioned nothing changed, I certainly didn't believe that because the changes are very much noticeable.

In response to your gas lighting, we didn't complain about the price, we understand additional charges are necessary and dont mind paying them when the food and service is good. We actually did mention some dissatisfaction to the waitress about the condition of the ham that was served, it was very much different from every other time we've had breakfast and she basically ignored it and said nothing she could do. It was not her problem, which is why we mentioned to the owner on the way out, paid out meal and even tipped. :) have...

The restaurant was clean and the service was pretty fast based on how many people were there. The only problem I had was that the food was not as seasoned as good as I thought it would be. I ordered small fries which was a decent portion, a BLT sandwich which was pretty big for the price and a mama Evie's the burger tasted like it had no salt on it whatsoever so it was a little hard to eat other than that it was cooked well. The BLT as I mentioned was pretty good but it had a weird style Mayo on it and it tasted kind of like miracle whip which I despise, the fries were pretty good but they lacked any salt on them at all and they could have been cooked for a bit longer which would have made them crispier. Overall I'm going to give it three stars because for me having your food seasoned is really important. I understand that they give you salt to add on it but it should be added on while cooking the burger to make it taste better. The total of the meal was 22.90. if you are eating here I recommend taking out because it will make you want to pass out an hour after...

Went for breakfast. Food was slightly below average. The blood pudding tasted burnt, the pancake was hard and the hollandaise was microwaved and turned into scrambled eggs. But my over easy eggs were cooked right and the bacon was good.

Luckily the waitress did not charge for the side of hollandaise as it was not eaten.

Clarity on the type of pancake in the kids meal on the menu would be great. We ordered what we thought would be a plain pancake and got a red velvet one for someone reason. Had to get them to remake it because the kid couldn’t eat the melted whipped cream due to being lactose intolerant and hated the random sauces.

Waitress was kind, and a serious gem. She was handling a full dining room including the cash by herself while making decent time and having a good attitude.
