Just had a late lunch at Farina. The atmosphere was cozy without feeling too dark, with warm lighting and comfortable seating that made me feel right at home. I walked in to Lana del Rey playing gently over the speakers (the music was great my whole stay), it was simply the perfect spot for a quick relaxing meal.
The service was outstanding from the moment I walked in, being promptly greeted by the waitress (I forgot her name unfortunately), whose warm and friendly demeanor made me feel instantly welcome. She was incredibly attentive without being intrusive, ensuring my glass was always full and checking in at just the right moments. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she offered insightful recommendations that enhanced my dining experience. The waitress informed me that the beef used in their burgers was halal, which put a great big smile on my face.
Service was quicker than expected, as the smiling waitress brought me my burger in about 8 minutes. I had decided to try their Mushroom Swiss burger, and it was an absolute delight. The burger featured two perfectly smashed Angus patties, each packed with juicy, flavorful beef. The Swiss cheese melted beautifully over the patties, adding a creamy, nutty flavor. The roasted garlic aioli was a standout, giving the burger a delicious garlicky kick without overpowering the other ingredients. I love garlic.
The sautéed mushrooms and onions were cooked to perfection, adding a savory, caramelized sweetness that complemented the beef wonderfully. Topping it all off was a handful of fresh arugula, which added a nice peppery bite and a touch of crispness.
The best thing about the burger was that no single flavour overpowered another, it was all beautifully balanced. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.
Fries were crispy and well seasoned. Not mind blowing but nothing to complain about at all.
Overall, my experience at this restaurant was exceptional. The cozy atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food make it a place I will definitely be returning to. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a fantastic burger in a welcoming setting, this is the...
Read moreWe’ve always enjoyed the food at Farina and love supporting locally-owned spots in Beaumont. However, after a recent visit, we’ve decided we’ll be sticking to takeaway going forward due to consistently disappointing service.
We specifically came in for happy hour, but when we arrived, the server wasn’t sure if it was still on and had to check online. We ordered the happy hour mozzarella sticks and burger, clearly stating we wanted to make it before the cut-off. The food, as always, was great, but the bill was another story.
Not only was the happy hour pricing not applied to the burger, but Kelly also handed the bill straight to my husband—an assumption that felt a bit off. When I asked about the pricing, Kelly responded curtly, stating that the happy hour burger only applies if fries aren’t ordered. This wasn’t communicated when we placed the order, and it wasn’t made clear on the menu.
I suggested that printing the happy hour menu could help avoid confusion in the future, but I was met with a dismissive response. And to top it off, after reviewing the receipt on our way home, we realized that the two beers we were charged for were at the full $9 price instead of the advertised $7 happy hour price. This was not corrected at the restaurant.
It’s just frustrating to deal with this level of inconsistency. We’ll continue to enjoy the food through takeaway, but it’s clear that the service is simply not up to par for a dine-in experience.
We hope the team takes this feedback to heart and makes some changes...
Read moreI don't know where to start! My wife and I never go out anymore. Between the cost, busy schedules and an amazing pre-teen on the autism spectrum - well, we tend to leave disappointed for usually a litany of reasons.
Farina, however, was phenomenal. I don't want to bury the headline here: we left on cloud 9. Here's why:
The service was amazing! There are more tables than I remembered when I picked up Basile's (in the back) a few weeks ago. When we got there it was almost empty but it picked up VERY quickly. Our server was attentive, explained the dishes to us like a seasoned pro (they've only been open a few weeks now) and our drinks were on point (Sea Change on tap and their house wine went very well with dinner).
The food. The FOOD! We ordered the lasagna, a hot chicken sandwich and fries and a maple bacon smash burger and fries. Portion size was huge, price was absolutely at that sweet spot of value (that's hard these days!) and the flavours were incredible. We topped it off with a maple walnut cheesecake with raspberry compote and a sweet masala drizzle - delivered by the head chef - what a way to end the night!
The layout of the place is great too - with the pizzeria kitchen also in the back, the smells and vibe was fresh, modern and inviting. We now have a reason to carve out some time and budget, this place...
