El Centro Pizza - Bedford — Restaurant in Bedford

This restaurant gets a lot of great reviews. A friend recommended it as well. I don’t doubt that at a time, they were great. And they probably can be great again in the future. But I did not have a great experience. We ordered from the restaurant and it took 2 hours to deliver. The restaurant is only 10 minutes away. I was expecting it to take over an hour like it said once I booked, but two hours is a bit much. I ended up having to serve my guests other food as it took so long to arrive. The worst part is, I phoned and the staff who answered had no idea what the status was and they seemed very disorganized. Finally someone answered who was able to confirm the order was on its way (already 2 hrs since I ordered). They claimed the order only came through an hr ago, but if I have an email confirmation with the exact time it should have gone through. The owner did reach out but didn’t take responsibility. Instead he blamed his staff and how hard it is to find good staff. You will notice in another review a few months ago, he mentioned the same thing. So this issue has not been resolved. If the restaurant is so important to him, why wasn’t he helping out his staff if he knew it was an issue. Or calling customers and letting them know they need extra time, instead he just said he would make it up next time. I gave him the chance to fix his mistakes but nothing was done to compensate a pizza order that was over $80. A restaurant is only as good as its last experience. Also our $30 pizza was delivered...

We've ordered the same pizza a few times from El Centro (goat cheese veggie) and until tonight were very satisfied with it. Tonight there were 3 issues. The pizza included olives, not a biggie as hubby could pick them off. As usual, we added hot banana peppers on half (I'm not a fan), but this time they were on the whole pizza. Yes I removed what I could see but nothing like biting into one you missed. But by far the biggest issue was there was no mozza and instead of a sprinkling of goat cheese on top like our previous orders, the entire base of the pizza where you would normally find the mozza was instead a thick layer of goat cheese. We both love goat cheese but not by the mouthful. It was impossible to pick up the pizza as the entire top slid off because of the goat cheese base. We tried eating it with a fork but the thick layer of goat cheese overwhelmed the whole taste, just not enjoyable at all. I'm a bit late with this review as I ordered from them in the middle of May. I ordered a 15 inch works pizza and small garlic fingers for delivery with added ground beef, olives and extra cheese. The garlic fingers, while tasting fine, were paper thin and not worth the price. The pizza tasted good. Same usual crust as every pizza place in NS.....not crispy, a bit doughy. I paid for extra cheese.....I'd hate to see how much cheese would be on the pizza if I hadn't ordered extra. I asked for ground beef, and I struggled to find the ground beef on the pizza. All in all, a good tasting pizza, I did like the sauce, but I likely won't order from here again.
