Modern Orchid Asian Cuisine(Bedford) — Restaurant in Bedford

Worst experience ordering online ever. Ordered 2 combo dishes (requested sweet & sour sauce on the side) on a rainy Sunday afternoon at 1:15 pm and estimated pick up time was 2:10 pm. I thought almost an hour for pickup was kind of long for chinese food, especially at a lull time in the day, but also not entirely unreasonable. So we wait, go to pick up our food, and the place is completely empty - the server is even mopping the floors mid-day. We say we're here for our pick up and she doesn't know what order we're talking about, goes to look into it, then comes back a minute later and says "Sorry, the order was muted, it will be another 10-15 mins". So they only started the order at 2:10 pm, after we waited an hour to come get it from the initial order. The order was ready at 2:26 pm and when we got home the sweet &sour sauce was NOT on the side, which might seem silly to be annoyed about but it's what we asked/waited for and our chicken balls went soggy. The food was unfortunately also nothing special - I actually added soy sauce to the rice for some flavour which I never do. The girl at the front seemed sweet, but with the poor service and lacking food we will not...

Utterly amazing.

Walked by when I was in the area and noticed the menu on the window. This is one of the only places in the plaza I hadn't tried so figured I would get something to take home. The menu had the usually chicken balls, fried rice and egg roll combo and I've had those extra combo meals in other restaurants so I expected the quality and flavor to basic and kind of bland.

Oh my god was I wrong. The quality and flavor is insane for the price you pay. I just got a side of chicken balls since it's all I was craving and I seriously regret not getting more. The food is absolutely amazing and extremely affordable.

The place itself is absolutely spotless too. Very clean, good size if you wanted to dine in, and the staff are super friendly/helpful.

Can't say enough good about it, so make sure you go so you can try it out for yourself!!

Edit: went back to eat again a few days later. Photos attached of the C1 combo, pad thai and a restaurant pic from when we were waiting for our take out before they closed. The chicken balls are slightly discolored because I drowned them in soy sauce before I took...

The food here is unbelievably amazing!!!!

Hands down! I am a chef and a total Foody and trust me I know food! This place is unreal. As the name states Modern well this is the place if you're looking for ultra-fresh and tasty modern Chinese food that doesn't make you feel disgusted after a huge meal like other places I only went to once every six months ish. This is a place like no other Chinese restaurant that I get 3 times or more a month compared to those other places. I have sampled dozens of dishes and they are all very delicious from there soups, lemon chicken, chicken balls and chicken everything to their eggrolls and more. It really is unbelievable, and I will definitely be going back for more as this is my only Chinese restaurant for now on :)
