Le Bar à Croissant — Restaurant in Beloeil

I have been supporting this place from day one, at their old location, even before the hype, even before the awards. Today is the first time in my life that I have been told by a barista that they could not make more foam for my extra dry cappuccinos. No reason, no apology, just a condescending flat out “no”. She even referred to them as macchiatos even though I told her that I ordered cappuccinos. I was never even offered a refund for the difference. She said she could add hot milk, or I could take them as is, but she was not making more foam. The manner in which this situation was handled was offensive and debasing. Why was this person refusing to make these coffees extra dry when every other coffeeshop I’ve been to in the world have never had a problem making it? I could maybe understand if the place was super busy today, but there wasn’t even a single person behind me. Great viennoiserie! This is definitely the place to go for an authentic croissant, or a chocolatine. I also discovered there the Swiss; a pure delight. It is quite difficult outside of Montreal to find a croissant that can match the quality of those you will find in France for instance. Well, mission accomplished for Le Bar à Croissant; this is the real deal! The place is small but very well designed. You can even see through a window the staff preparing those delicious things. Popped in on an early Friday afternoon to pick up croissants for the weekend. First impression: very clean and welcoming venue, kind of on the expensive side for the specialty croissants. ($4). Second impression: OMG DELICIOUS AND TOTALLY WORTH IT!! The croissants are super flaky… they nailed the laminated dough. The specialty croissants are FULL of whatever stuffing you choose as is the cream and chocolate chip danish. My only complaint: they had run out of almond croissants… definitely going back.
