Ben & Florentine — Restaurant in Blainville

I really wanted to like this place - the reviews were positive, it's close to home, and the interior looks great! Unfortunately, all other aspects to the experience were inferior to all surrounding breakfast restaurants I've been to. Maybe it was just an off day, but I won't be returning.

Service was so slow (on a non-busy Saturday-afternoon) that my party genuinely believed they forgot about us. The restaurant doesn't leave coffee carafes at the table - which is fine, if service is attentive. We sat for 20 minutes with empty coffee cups until we flagged down a different waitress (and also had to ask for brown sugar and milk). Energy was low, smiles were sparse, and no one looked like they wanted to be there.

The food arrived almost cold, with the smallest, saddest squirt of chocolate I've ever seen. Portions were stingy compared to the menu photos and comparable breakfast restaurants, though prices were the same. Overall a depressing experience. Again, maybe it was an off day, but I see no reason to return with competitors like Coco Frutti etc. just...

Simple review forthcoming. We have been here a year before and the food was passable. So we went back in to find that the Food was totally below even average quality. We ordered omlettes which showed up without the vegetables being cooked, the western omlette had something sweet in it (never heard of that), so we sent the vegetarian back and the waitress didnt seem to understand that something was wrong. She just left not to come back, until we flagged down the manager, who was rude in her response after our explanation. She was smirking at the issue. She told us since we were sending it back, the waitress or herself would have to pay for the omlette. Never heard of this. No apology, no explanation, just took the food away and came back with a new one that was just as bad. 60$ for nothing, we will not be back. Not...

Such a great location and good looking food! I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately the food came so so late and cold. To top everything off, there was a piece of hair in the avocado toast and bacon (specifically asked for no bacon) in our sandwich. The only saving grace were the potato fritters. Wouldn't be visiting again.

Our server was on her first day of work and she was kind enough to replace the sandwich (although I assume the bacon was just taken out and the sandwich wasnt replaced) and they gave us a discount on our bill. We could see the manager eyeing us from afar but she never bothered to come and apologize...
