Nordik Café Torréfacteur Et Brunch — Restaurant in Blainville

My first experience here was very dissapointing to say the least. I got the smoked trout on toasted bread. I really wanted to like this place since the decor was super cute and cozy. Every aspect of the dish was unedible. The hollandaise sauce was disguisting and bitter. The trout tasted just as bad as it looked, I expected a nice slice of smoked trout and got served chewed up trout that looked like canned pet food. The salad was bitter and bland and the dressing tasted like nothing. The avocado had brown spots and was unappetizing. The potatoes had a weird bitter taste. I made my mother and brother try it as well and they made faces of disgust when they tried my food. I politely expressed that I didnt want to be mean but I didnt like the dish. I didn't think it was fair at all to be charged for this meal. I was insulted that I was still charged for the meal that I barely touched. I was told they could take 15% off a 22$ meal which was a whopping $3.30 off. My experience here was truly a waste of time and money. Its clear that they dont care about satisfying or taking care of their clients. A good manager or owner would've apologized and waived my meal. Unfortunately, I cannot say that we had the best experience today. We came because my friend had come before and said it was the best breakfast ever! And unfortunately we were both surprised by the food. If you look at my picture it’s obviously been moved around. But the potatoes were burnt and squashed and not tasty at all (lacking spice) , the toast was dry and burnt, the egg was dry despite the fact that it was sunny side up. My friend got the brioche which was dry as chips would be. We mentioned it to the waitress when she asked if we liked everything … we said well it is rather burnt and dry and she said it goes in the oven that’s why. But since we left, I looked at all the pictures in other reviews and our meal today looked nothing like the pictures online, nor like the picture of the food my friend got, the first time she had gone. Anyhow. It is what it is. Maybe it was a different cook or we just got the leftovers ( but it was 9 am) I’m not sure I would risk returning… oh and finally I got the Americano coffee which was ok. Honestly so disappointed with this restaurant. They made us wait 45 minutes at the table without even offering us water. We went to see the waitress multiple times and she reassured she would come back when she didn’t. She then went to a table to take their order and serve them water that came in way after us. We told her how that wasn’t fair and she didn’t care. We went to see the manager and spoke with her and the situation. She literally kept laughing in our face and telling us “sorry”. We’ve never felt so disrespected by a restaurant. The manager could have at least try to compensate or get us to stay but she just kept laughing in our face and was not genuine what so ever.
