This restaurant has gone down hill which is a shame. The waiter started off by explaining that the water smelled like chlorine and that he didn't recommend it. Ok so the restaurant should either invest in a water filter or bottled water for their patrons. We live in quebec we shouldn't have to pay $7 for a bottle of san Pellegrino because their water isn't drinkable. The croutons, bread and ceasar salad were stellar as usual. We opted for the 2 for $40 special from Sunday to Thursday. Our NY strips were not very good quality sadly. Lots of gristle and not tender. I get that its the special so how can i expect good quality? Right?...Wrong! The point of these FB advertised specials is to attract new patrons not scare them off so that they wont come back and purchase a steak at full price. If i had paid the $34 and received that steak i would have sent it back. Also, the mashed potatoes were dry, flaky and tasted very odd. They tasted like they were scooped into the ramekin an hour before and left to stay heated under a lamp until it was served to me. Mashed potatoes are a steakhouse staple that should be rich and creamy. How they messed them up is beyond me. They should take pointers from their neighbor, La Belle & La Boeuf, on how mashed potatoes should taste and be served. My husband's vegetables were served practically raw and hard. Read moreHad a reservation last night, was shown a booth but we preferred chairs, we asked if it didn't bother her if we could. We sat at our table and three other tables came in after us and we're being served , they had water, cocktails and salads and we didn't even have a glass of water. I had problems understanding the menu so I asked the hostess if I could have a English menu, she refused to speak English so I asked in French, smirks at me and says they are at the printers come next week that is when. So after waiting 20 minutes we decided that there many restaurants who value their customers, the hostess followed us to the parking lot offering us a free drink and to sit in a different section we went two buildings over to Maddison, where we were treated as valued customers, asked for English menu no problem, service and food was excellent. Would not recommend this restaurant, this is not a English issue because I would have ordered in French I just wanted to know exactly what I was ordering, also being ignored for 20 minutes is ridiculous when the restaurant...

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an extremely unpleasant experience I had at your restaurant last Saturday, July 27, 2024.
I made a reservation for two people at 4:00 p.m. to celebrate. Unfortunately, what should have been a special occasion was marred by an unacceptable situation.
At the time of paying the bill, the waitress informed us that we had to add a mandatory 15% gratuity. Although tipping in Quebec is voluntary and the customer is free to decide the amount to leave, we felt pressured and obligated to comply with this requirement.
As consumers, we are deeply offended by this illegal and abusive practice and feel it is our duty to denounce this type of behavior that violates our rights.
I request that you conduct a thorough investigation of this incident and take appropriate corrective action. We hope that you will take the necessary steps to prevent similar situations from recurring...
