Jack's Pizza — Restaurant in Bouctouche

On Holiday from out of province and wanted to try a maritime specialty. The reviews were favourable so we gave it a try. On Tuesday, July 5th at 6:43pm we ordered two large Donair. No time frame was offered as to the wait. 5 minutes later another customer ordered one. Multiple customers picked up orders. Other orders were also placed. Only one person was working. In the over 30 minutes we waited she never washed her hands once. She took cash transactions. Multiple phone calls. No hand washing! No gloves were worn at any time. When the customer who’d ordered after us got their order and we were the only customers left I asked her what was going on! She muttered things I couldn’t quite make out and told me she was working alone. We requested a refund. She claimed it was almost ready. After seeing how she was mashing the ingredients with her bare hands my partner decided he was no longer interested in consuming any food from this establishment and I heartily concurred. We left without a refund...

We often order from this place and love the pizza however today the experience was ruined. I ordered a simple pizza over the phone and was told ready in 20 minutes. I got there 45 minutes later and they didn’t even start making it yet. It was clear they forgot about my order because the girl looked confused as to what pizza I was picking up but played it well pretending she did. 10 minutes later she asked me what it was that I wanted on the pizza!! That’s almost an hour later and it’s not made yet. When I asked her what happened and told her I ordered it an hour ago the girl replied - I know…. Followed by - the chicken is cooked from frozen so it takes a long time…. We order it at least once a week and it usually takes 15-20 minutes so I know it does not take this long and they didn’t want to admit that the forgot about my order!!! An hour and 20 minutes later I got my pizza and was late for my meeting! You just lost your once/twice a week customer who...

It's a shame really that I have to give them a 2 star rating. They list the poutine as "poutine style" I guess this means undercooked crinkle cut fries with shredded mozza (pizza ) cheese. I strongly do not recommend the poutine, there are better ones in Bouctouche. The pizza is hit and miss, sometimes it is over cooked, others undercooked and sometimes it is just right. The only thing saving Jack's from a 1 star review is that their pizza dough and sauce is delicious when properly prepared. Now onto the nachos, never ever ever buy Nachos from Jack's Pizza, the nacho chips were stale and chewy like they had been sitting in a bag for a couple of weeks (I'm assuming they do not sell many nachos and the chips have time to go stale) there were hardly any toppings and undercooked.
