Restaurant Review: Overpriced, Unsanitary, and Unbelievably Rude Service
I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever encountered at this restaurant. From the moment we sat down, things were off, but we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt—big mistake. I ordered the jumbo ravioli, expecting a well-made dish, but instead, I was disgusted to find a strand of hair inside my food. When I politely pointed it out to the staff, instead of handling the situation professionally, they had the audacity to claim it was a “garnish.” Yes, you read that right—they tried to pass off a piece of hair as part of the dish. Rather than apologizing or offering to fix it, they kept arguing with me as if I was the problem.
Meanwhile, my coworker ordered the chicken Alfredo, but it was completely wrong. The sauce was runny, almost like soup, and had no creaminess whatsoever. It tasted bland and watered down, as if they rushed it or simply didn’t know how to make Alfredo properly. For the prices they charge, you’d expect a decent meal, but that was far from the case.
Speaking of prices, everything here is ridiculously overpriced for no reason. The food quality doesn’t match what they charge, and to make matters worse, they nickel and dime you for every little thing. Want an extra side of sauce or cheese? That’s an additional $5. They don’t tell you this upfront, but when the check comes, you’ll be shocked at how quickly the bill adds up for a meal that wasn’t even good to begin with.
And to top it all off, after all the issues with the food, instead of making things right, the server told me and my coworkers that we were no longer welcome to eat there and that they didn’t want our business. This was simply because we dared to speak up about the hair in my food and the poorly made Alfredo. I have never been treated so rudely by restaurant staff in my life.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Between the overpriced, poorly made food, the unsanitary conditions, and the incredibly unprofessional staff, this restaurant is a complete disaster. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values customers, knows how to cook, and doesn’t try to gaslight you into believing hair in your food is a “garnish.” If I can give negative...
Read moreJohn's Family Restaurant in Brampton offered a "Nasrani Sadhya" buffet for Easter Sunday that presented a blend of appealing aspects alongside some significant shortcomings in the food itself. One of the immediate highlights was undeniably the price point. At a very reasonable less than $30 per person (before tax), the buffet felt accessible and offered a wide array of dishes, promising good value. The ambience of the restaurant was also a positive. It provided a comfortable and welcoming setting for a festive meal. Furthermore, the staff deserve commendation for their helpful and friendly demeanor, contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere. The presentation of the food was also noteworthy, with attention paid to the visual appeal of the buffet spread. However, the culinary experience proved to be quite uneven. While the Chicken Biriyani stood out as a flavorful and well-prepared dish that I genuinely enjoyed, the majority of the remaining offerings failed to impress. Disappointingly, the non-vegetarian selections, including Chicken, Fish, Beef, and Mutton, suffered from a lack of proper preparation. Each of these dishes was served cold and exhibited a bland taste, indicating they were not cooked to taste. This was a significant drawback, as it encompassed a substantial portion of the buffet. Regarding practicalities, parking immediately adjacent to the restaurant is limited. While this could pose an initial inconvenience, there are additional parking spots located nearby, which is a helpful consideration for diners. In conclusion, my experience at John's Family Restaurant for their Easter "Nasrani Sadhya" buffet was a mixed one. The attractive price, pleasant ambience, friendly staff, and appealing food presentation were definite positives. However, the overall taste of the majority of the dishes was merely average, with the cold and bland non-vegetarian options being a notable disappointment. While the Chicken Biriyani was a standout, the inconsistency in food quality across the buffet leaves room for improvement.
Hoping the management consider this feedback positively to enhance the quality and temperature of buffet dishes for...

I came with my family to enjoy mid day breakfast. I asked to order the Morning Glory, and requested the sausage be substituted for toast. My server informed me that they would ask, but can not guarantee. (Which I can accept, however it seems ridiculous as two pieces of bread cost far less than two pieces of meat.
I was told they can't accommodate my request and offered to give me extra bacon instead of the toast (again, costing more than the bread) at no extra charge. I said sure.
Another order with my table asked for dry toast, and it came with butter. I was given the toast, and then we requested the dry toast again, this time they informed us they would need the old toast back first??? (Presumably to throw it out, as it would make too much sense to just let someone eat it after making a mistake with the order.
The third order from our table also requested crispy bacon, and it did not come crispy/had to he sent back.
So with three orders, they messed them all up to some degree, which I have no problem with, as mistaken can happen. However, the way the management handled the situation was unsettling.
Not willing to accommodate a cheaper request for them, requesting the toast back that they messed up (presumably to throw it out as I don't see them eating food handled by the public) will ensure I don't return to this location.
The server we had, I want to specify was more than accommodating. She mentioned to us the chances of our original request, it wasn't her decision to limit us, the management did, and I want to be clear that the server I had was wonderful. (Even offered to pay for the extra toast because of the confusion and back and forth).
I feel sorry for anyone who has to work here, and will ensure I tell people I know to avoid this place of business as it's not worth their...
