La Creme Cakes — Restaurant in Brampton

Very unimpressed with the service called there because I wanted to go for a cake testing to get my wedding cake there. Called a week ahead was told there were gong to be samples for us to try. We showed up there and she only asked us what kids cake design told us it was going to be about 300$ than said what kinda cake do you want. We said we thought we were going to try samples because that’s what we were told when we called a week ahead for an appt. and she said I don’t have any samples I can make one of one kind of cake and you can take it home. We were confused and than she said well the cake is good so you can just tell me what kind of flavour you want. This is my wedding cake I would like to know the cake I’m getting tastes good and why did they tell us something and not do it. Than she said she was making samples for anoth r appt. how come we weren’t good enough to get one? They weren’t even apologetic for the inconvenience we drove an hour to get there for nothing and bad service. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. This was suppose to be a special day picking out my wedding cake and they treated me like I wasn’t important. I give them a 0/5 they don’t get a star from me but to post it you have to at least give them 1 star. That’s not right.

Very rude owners I like the reply back I got saying basically that we are liars why would we go there if there was no appointment and how did thy have our number if there was no appointment. Don’t talk to me rudely on the phone and tell me you didn’t know we had an appointment when as soon as we walked In we said we have an appointment they said yeah I know. And I don’t care how much time there is till August I’m not going to give someone money who treats us badly. And they only called cause they didn’t. The cake arrived on time and in perfect condition. We did not have any problems ordering, and the outside of the cake was as per specifications. Its was beautiful. However, we had discussed with staff at La Creme as how the cake was going to be used for a gender reveal at the baby shower, and as such , we had discussed how the color (pink/blue) revealing the gender, in the top tier of the cake, had to be 1. Prominent, 2. eye catching, and 3. Occupy atleast 50% of the layers in the top tier. They agreed that those things are possible. We were very sadly disappointed that neither of those three conditions were met. We were not advised of any rule they have that says that they dont put more than a certain amount of fresh cream in the cake. The overall outward look of the cake, its presentation and taste were adequate. However, our gender reveal surprise was quite ruined as the the top tier contained a very thin layer of very light blue, in more than 80% white. The blue was BARELY visible. We had specifically requested for the inside of the cake to be layered with atleast 50% if not more blue, but there was just one sad layer of the blue. Ordering from La Creme, turned out to be disappointing as it ruined our gender reveal. Either the staff at their bakery did not understand us, when we asked for a more prominent presence of the gender reveal colour, or they were just careless and/or thoughtless to not respect our wishes. I ordered a wedding cake about 2 days before we needed it, really last minute! I specifically requested eggless and they were the only place able to make what I want, last minute AND eggless! Showed them the pictures, made last minute changes and they still delivered, the cake was gorgeous, exactly what I wanted and tasted amazinggg. It was heavenly, not over sweet and fresh strawberries along with vanilla buttercream. It made everyone want seconds!

The other thing is that I picked up the cake and was really nervous as delivering a two tier wedding cake is no easy feat. But everyone there was so sweet and friendly and it kinda “de-stressed” me. I didn’t catch their names but there was an elderly gentleman who secured the cake with cardboard into the backseat and buckled the cake in and then he closed the car doors and gently tucked the draping of my dress into the car as it was sticking out then closed the door for me 💕 it was like incredibly sweet and much appreciated! So glad I ordered from them, they have my business and my friends’ too. The customer service and everything else...
