I came here with my partner and mother, intending to have a good dinner out while my mother was visiting us for the weekend. Fortunately, we were seated rather quickly on the patio, where it wasn't busy at all. Unfortunately, the rest of our evening was rather sub-par.
Drinks - Our server took orders, and we stated that although she could have free reign on one of the drinks, coffee was not to be involved. When they came back, it was made with coffee. Whatever. I asked her for cream to at least dull the strong flavour, twice. The third time was about half an hour later when I walked into the restaurant where she was confused as to why I was inside as she was serving another table. The drink had been half finished by this point. She assured me appetizers would be out soon.
Food - one spinach dip, two orders of all-you-can-eat ribs and one platter. This took 1.25hrs to come to the table. Nothing was hot, just warm with old fries. We asked for pita and chips with the dip but we were served only pita, which was very greasy. The ribs were fortunately good and tried to at least get as much as we could even though it took a very long time for the kitchen to prepare anything. Their "brisket" is basically some roast beef in salt and vinegar. Nothing what brisket is supposed to be. The chicken strips were ok but had a slight taste of soap. I'm not sure what that was about.
Not once were we asked how food was nor saw our server much despite a 2.5hr endeavor to have dinner. I would have definitely sent everything back if I wasn't already starving. Most of my plate went to the trash anyway. Our tip reflected the lack of service and overall poor quality. Our table neighbours did mention something to the manager as they were also receiving very poor service.

Read moreHannah was our server tonight, honestly one of our worst dining experiences ever. took ages to be greeted, we were there for over 2 and half hours and she probably came by only 4 times. she didn’t mention the drink special or ask if we were celebrating anything, we had to flag her down to order multiple times.
when we had issues with our food she didn’t really seem to care and left it all in front of us and didn’t come back for so long that we had to flag down a manager. she didn’t pre bus a single thing either. I’m a server too and I’m usually so understanding when a restaurant messes up but this was honestly ridiculous. once we spoke to the manager to express our concerns, Hannah did not come back at all, not even to apologize and made us feel very awkward everytime she walked by us.
the whole restaurant was unbussed pretty much. the poor host was also their busser and was doing it all by himself. his name was Sumant and he was wonderful and cleaned all the plates for us since Hannah left them there. he kept checking in on us even when he didn’t have to.
Overall, the potato skins were good. Management tried to make it better but still charged us for food we didn’t enjoy/ didn’t even eat. If you come here and get seated in Hannah’s section, ask for a new server. The experience would’ve been redeemable if she didn’t treat our issues like burdens and avoid us like the plague.
I would’ve given this 1 star but the host/ busser Sumant really made our night and made us want to come back...
Read moreI am deeply disappointed to see how far Montana’s has fallen under the management of Robin. Ever since he took over, this restaurant—once a favorite spot for me, my family, and friends—has deteriorated in every way imaginable.
The quality of the food has plummeted, the presentation is sloppy, and the ambiance is completely lackluster. To make matters worse, the service is incredibly slow. During my last visit, my order wasn’t even taken for over an hour. I had to get up and place the order myself, only for the food to take yet another hour to arrive—and when it finally did, it was cold and tasted terrible.
When I raised my concerns with Robin, the manager, his response was appalling. He was dismissive, offered no apology, and made no effort to address the issues. His unprofessional attitude and complete disregard for customer satisfaction make it clear why the restaurant is struggling.
The cleanliness of the restaurant has also declined. Dust covers the walls, and the staff, who used to be friendly and attentive, now seem unmotivated and untrained. The lack of leadership is evident, and it’s clear that Robin is not capable of managing this establishment.
Montana’s used to be our go-to spot multiple times a week, but Robin’s poor management has turned it into the worst dining experience in North America. Until there’s a change in management and this restaurant regains its former standards, we will not be returning.
