There is no option for zero start to start the review . I am from Halifax and visited this restaurant due to late hours. I saw bad reviews from lot of customer but still had hopes that they will be better. I ordered a paal porotta beef curry, which was soaked in coconut milk which is sweeter. Then I ordered squid which was not at all cooked and the masala did not get together well which was a disaster where you could not even take a single spoon where I never faced this flops in my dine in entire Canada restaurant. I questioned the girl waiter and she spoke to some one in kitchen and said this is how squid use to be . Never expected an answer from any restaurant. I paid 103 cad and she said she include the discount for the uncooked squid . Finally saw the bill out of 103 cad 2.7 cad is the discount . You guys have different branches but I would say to all my Indian native guys never go to this restaurant and it’s franchise . Waste of money . No customer service , I don’t know how they got the food handling certification next is gonna be social media I am going to write big blog to make sure these guys should not run...
Read moreWe ordered banana fritters (pazham pozhi) as the appetizer. Unfortunately the banana was not ripe enough hence hard. The Mississauga location advises us against ordering if the banana is not ripe enough so we expected the same … our mistake. We let our server know that the dish is served incorrect, she said she will let the chef know. We ordered 8 and so were stuck with it. No replacement or apology. I would suggest order 1 piece and if meets your approval then order more. Main course was beef curry with Kerala parotta, fish curry with kappa, Ocean’s palate special kizhi parotta and beef kizhi parotta. All of them were very tasty. Served promptly. Servers are not thorough with the menu yet but the menu is self explanatory so no complaints there. I was happy there were humans rather than a robot serving as is the fad now a days. Good music. Tastefully decorated restaurant. Very Clean. Will go back for the...
Read moreWe came out of the place saying “bhakshanam adipoli aayirunnu alle?!”…(doesn’t do justice to the emotions, but roughly translates to “food was terrific right?!”)
We ordered a bunch of stuff including chatti choru, kizhi porotta, chilli chicken, plain porotta, ceylon chicken fry, masala fried fish, kappa and tandoori paneer.
The chatti choru had mathi (sardines) fry and that was awesome…easily the best mathi i have had in years!
The chicken curry that came went the chatti choru and the chilli chicken went sooo well with the brilliant and crispy plain porotta. Absolutely loved it.
The kizhi porotta was soaked in the curry and was extremely flavorful and soft.
The ceylon fried chicken was very crispy and juicy.
Tandoori paneer was good…but i would rather try another dish from the kerala cuisine next time im here.
Overall, the food was great and will...
