Pho Mi 99 — Restaurant in Brampton

An average pho restaurant like any other - except that the food was sub-par, to say the least. I was quite surprised at the blandness of the dish I ordered - satay chicken with rice - because normally, any run of the mill viet restaurant can prepare these dishes routinely. The chicken came sauced with bell peppers, onions and spices (and the menu even indicated that this was a "spicy" dish), but it tasted like NOTHING. No salt or anything. With the amount of sauce and onions all over it, I found this very puzzling.

My husband ordered the jumbo shrimp in sauce with rice and was pretty disappointed with it. At other restaurants, the shrimp is not only much larger, but at least two or three of them are on the plate. He was served just the one, and it was tiny, with hardly any shrimp sauce whatsoever.

About the only good food we had, was the spring rolls - but how wrong can you go with those?

The service was snappy, which was great, and the decor is just your average viet decor...

I don't typically go here for the customer service but my last experience here wasn't a great one. From the street I saw that their open sign was on. By the time I parked in front of the restaurant the sign was off. It was around 8:30pm and Google confirms that they close at 10. The door was still unlocked so I walked in and asked if they were closed. I was quickly prompted to order to-go. I wanted to dine in but based on the pressure they were putting on me I decided to order to-go. I paid and my order came to me within five mins. By the time I got home I noticed that some extras weren't included with my house special soup. No Lime wedge, no sauces, no mint leaves. I think that they must operate a barbershop in the kitchen as two of our three dishes had hair cooked with the food. This wasn't a scenario where there was something that could have been confused for a hair, but it was very clear that three long hairs and one shorter hair between the three dishes were discovered. There is no excuse for this and it is obviously an unsanitary environment. I took a pic demonstrating one of the hairs pulled off the pork chop. This was a takeout order and it was refunded, but I will never ever eat here again and I suggest that you don't eat here either unless you are looking for extra fibre in the form of hair!!!
