I usually spend $25-40 each time! There are always 3 of the same females ( Indian…not trying to racialize however I do not know their names). These 3 females are extremly rude, speak their language and treat non Indians like second class citizens. Few months ago there was an issue with my order and they were extremly rude when my app was not working and I asked for assistance. They claimed “ I don’t know anything about app.” Today I walked into the restaurant to order one footling meatball sandwich. The one female with birthmark on her face immediately tended to an Indian lady who was in the line behind me and asked “ were you first?” Despite it was obvious myself and my daughter walked into the store first and were clearly waiting in the line ahead to be served. She then tended to me as it was obvious I was ahead and asked what I wanted to order. I indicated that I wanted to order one footling sub and specified the bread. She then walked away and went to the cash and the other female who worked with her came over and asked me again what I wanted to order. I specified that the lady who went to the cash to assist someone else had already taken my order and walked away so wasn’t sure who was handling my order. This employee then responded “ok then since she took never mind.” My response was yet again “ she took my order but walked away to the cash but I didn’t see her prepare the sub so can you please assist with my order?” This employee then retook my order. As she took my order I pointed to the picture on the door and above where the menu was located which listed breakfast Sandwhich for $3 and asked if I was able to get bacon instead of sausage. She said yes and that I was only “supposed to get half a bacon” I ordered one footlong sub and two breakfast Sandwhich substituting sausage for bacon. During this time she and the other employee at the cash were speaking casually in their own language to another male who had appeared to have been leaving the store. She made an error cutting my sub and toppings because she was looking and speaking to this male. I pointed this out to however, I riveted “it’s ok” and proceeded to the cashier where the third employee was now present. All three whispered and their body languages were unwelcoming. I noticed they punched in $5 per breakfast which was supposed to be $3 like the picture. The cashier like her two female coworkers was extremly rude and abrupt, indicating “ well the picture shows sausage so you wanted bacon which is $2 each piece so pay for it!” I responded “yes I understand however I thought I could substitute bacon so please give me the sausage then if I have to pay $4 more for two pieces of bacon,” This cashier then replied “well you need to pay and now what do you expect us to do with these? It’s your mistake not ours!” The first female with the birthmark on her face then yelled across the other side as all three teamed up on me infront of my children and two other customers yelling “you do this before..” I responded “ excuse me? I’m speaking to this cashier and what do you mean I do this before? This is my first time ordering breakfast Sandwhich.” All three of these rude unprofessional females continued to scold, argue and embarrass me shouting “ you better pay, no we aren’t allowing you to just pay for the sub you have to pay for what we make!” The third female proceeded to argue and cover the sandwiches insisting “pay for everything or we not giving you anything at all!” I was even willing to take sausage instead or asked to just pay for the sub since they were demanding that I pay $4 extra. I was soon left with no choice than to exit the store as these three females continued to argue, shout, embarrass me and insisted they were not going to allow me to pay for my sub unless I paid for the other two bacon sandwiches as well and weren’t willing to make any adjustments (eg remove bacon/clarify sign with customer/tell customer they’ll be charged more $$or remake sausage ). I will be taking this unprofessional behaviour further as I recorded this on...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with the service I received at the Subway in Trinity Common.
My friend picked up sandwiches for us during her lunch break. She asked if the habanero cheese was halal, and the employee told her it was both halal and vegetarian-friendly. Since I had never tried it before, I wanted to make sure, so I looked it up online and saw that it wasn’t halal. To confirm, I called the store and asked an employee directly. She said, “No, no, no, sorry, no,” then hung up quickly before I could ask another question. When I tried calling back multiple times, no one answered.
On my lunch break, I went back to the store with my sandwich — completely untouched, unopened, and not eaten — and explained the situation. I asked if they could remake it. Employee B. Shirgill went to explain the situation to another staff member, whose name I believe was Sana. What Sana said left me shocked. She spoke in Hindi, assuming I couldn’t understand, and said I was using the sandwich not being halal as an excuse to get a refund. I never once asked for a refund — only for my sandwich to be remade.
When I spoke to Sana directly, she insisted my friend had asked about the cheese at the end of the order. I explained that regardless of when she asked, the employee still told her it was halal and vegetarian-friendly. I also explained that when I checked online, it said otherwise, and when I called the store, I was told “no” and hung up on. Sana then rudely asked if I wanted a refund. I said no — I only wanted them to take back the sandwich and remake it. I also told her that I understood what she said in Hindi and that I was not using halal as an excuse for a refund. She walked away, called someone, and I overheard her on the phone saying that if a customer asks if something is halal, you should just say yes.
This is unacceptable. Halal is a religious practice Muslims follow according to Islam. How can Muslim customers trust Subway if employees lie about whether food is halal?
While this was happening, B. Shirgill continued to be respectful, apologized for the mistake, and offered to make me a new sandwich once she helped another customer. However, even while my sandwich was being remade, Sana made another comment in Hindi, questioning how I “knew” that the cheese I asked for was halal. As a young adult who has grown up eating at Subway, I know exactly what I can and cannot eat.
When I asked for Subway’s corporate number, B. Shirgill kindly printed me a receipt, but the only number on it was for the store, not corporate. I also tried to confirm Sana’s name since her tag was hard to read, but B. Shirgill told me it was against store policy to give out names and that I’d have to ask Sana directly — which she doubted would happen.
I found Sana’s behavior extremely rude, racist, and offensive. I was a loyal customer at this Subway for years, as I work in the same mall and would often go there for lunch. After this experience, I will not return, and neither will my...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting service provided by Simran! Ordered 1 foot long and 3 6inch sandwiches online. When arriving to the store, all sandwiches were bagged up and ready to be picked up. Upon coming home we see that they are all 6 inch sandwiches. I immediately call the store to find out what went wrong. I had to call 4 different times for someone to finally pick up. Without even getting a word in, she yelled at me to hold. This made me even more upset. After waiting a while, she finally asked me what she can help me with. I told her the issue and she said “what do you want me to do”. I told her that I expect a refund for the whole issue. She said that I can come back for a new sandwich… What am I going to do with an extra sandwich, that is going to be a waste of food. She then tells me to wait 15 mins for her to call her supervisor. I waited 45 mins for her to call back, and no call. So then I called the store to see an update. She said that if i wanted a refund, i would have to bring everything back..? She made us wait 45 minutes for her to call her supervisor, obviously we have eaten the food. After a lot of back and fourth she finally agreed to give a refund for the foot long sandwich. I asked for her name, her supervisors name and corporates number so that I could further complain about her attitude and the service I received over the phone and she hung up on me!?! Disgusting service. Can’t imagine what she would have done to the sandwich she was going to give us for free… I will be definitely contacting corporate for further action on this...
