If I could put a zero I would. Today was my first time going to this restaurant. I placed my order and the girl started making my food. I asked her if I could use the washroom and she said yes and came to open the door for me. That’s when I noticed that she was wearing the white gloves that you wear when you prepare food. So she had them on to prepare my food. She came and touched the bathroom door and went back to do my food. I decided to let it go, but when I was done in the washroom, I needed to wash my hands and there was no soap. So I had to go back to the counter and ask her for soap. She stopped making the food and came back to the washroom to check the soap still with her white gloves on. She confirmed there was no soap so she proceeded to open the second bathroom and test the soap still with the gloves on. I took the soap and washed my hands as she headed back to the front to keep preparing my food with the same white gloves. That’s a huge hygiene issue, especially in a place that serves food. Cleanliness should be a top priority, and this made me seriously question the standards here. I won’t be returning, and I hope management takes...
Read moreI first tried The Chopped Leaf in Saskatoon and fell in love with their amazing food. So when I heard that one had opened in Manitoba, I had to make time to eat there.
The menu has so many options of salads and bowls and the opportunity to customize either one as well. Most of the bowls and salads are vegan and gluten free. I ordered the No. 2 Bowl and it was so delicious. Another favourite of mine is the Popeye Salad. The bowl was filled with healthy, whole food ingredients and had an amazing flavour.
The restaurant was modern and clean and the service was friendly and fantastic - the owner even stopped by our table to make sure everything was okay and that we were enjoying our food. I love this restaurant and can’t wait for a franchise to open in Winnipeg! Until then, I will make trips to Brandon to eat here. If you’re looking for healthy “fast food,” this...
Read moreTo say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Some coupons showed up in our mail, so being mostly vegetarians we figured we would give it a try. Right off the start, we were told that any protein is an extra cost. That's fine, but is not stated anywhere. So we got 4 different salad bowls to try. Extremely lackluster was the concensus of all 4. Even with a $10 off coupon, total was over $46 with a tip. Would not recommend The Chopped Leaf to anyone. Save yourself the money, go to the grocery store, purchase the produce and make your own. Or buy the bagged salad kits, by far better and so much cheaper. Will not ever visit this establishment again. Sorry for...
