I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Canad Inns Destination Centre Brandon. This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The toilet in our room was not functioning at all — the flush simply did not work despite multiple attempts, and I have attached a video as proof. This forced us to go downstairs near the reception every time we needed to use the washroom, which is absolutely unacceptable and completely unhygienic. When I reported the issue to the front desk, I was told that the plumber would not be available until after 10:00 AM. Our checkout was at 11:00 AM, but we were planning to leave by 8:00 AM — so how exactly was a plumber coming at 10:00 AM supposed to help us? We went the entire night and morning without a working toilet in our room, and no solution was offered in the meantime. That’s not just inconvenient — it’s inexcusable. On top of that, there were no basic amenities in the bathroom, not even toothpaste. The overall condition and level of service we received were far below acceptable standards, and your staff did nothing to resolve the situation while we were there. I am requesting a full refund for this completely unacceptable experience. I expect this matter to be addressed promptly and seriously. If not, I will escalate this further with appropriate consumer channels and public reviews.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice now, and both experiences were terrible. The first time, the shower water would randomly get scalding hot without touching the controls—my child actually got burned. On top of that, we ended up with bites that appeared to be from bed bugs. I reported the issues to the front desk, but they brushed it off with no real concern. I followed up by email and was encouraged to give the hotel another chance. Unfortunately, that was a big mistake. During our second stay, people were partying all night—yelling in the halls, slamming doors, and running around. I texted the front desk at midnight, and they claimed someone would handle it. But the noise didn’t stop until almost 5 in the morning. For the price we paid for one night, I expected basic comfort and professionalism, but instead, we got no sleep, no peace, and absolutely no customer care. I regret giving this place a second chance. Definitely not worth the money or the stress. Never again.

It was a terrible experience! We arrived almost 9pm and we asked if the checkout could be one hour late on the next day because we would have an event to gonin the morning. The front desk said no because the hotel was full. We put our bags on the room and went to Tavern Pub eat something. We back to the room almost 11pm, tired to the long travel from Winnipeg and we found a BED BUG walking one of the beds! I put a glass to keep him stuck and called to the frontdesk and they send a staff to check.l our room. The employee asked if I was sure that it was a bed bug. I said that I worked in a hotel before ans I knew to recognize one. So she decide to move us to another room that I didn’t understand because the girls at the front desk said that the hotel was full. So, we’ re tired of the long travel we just wanted take a rest but in another way I would have gone to another hotel.

First, we’re told the day of our first night of staying that the slide is broken. After looking at reviews, that seems to be a theme for this place - why else do you think I booked an overpriced room at your hotel? FOR. THE. SLIDE. You’re a hotel advertising a big waterside - pay to get it fixed ASAP. At least if we booked at one of the other hotels with a pool we’d know what we were getting for the price. It was too late to book somewhere else. Second, there were other problems with the pool area - a hot tub was also broken and something was broken for the ventilation (?) so they had a fan on the floor on the pool deck PLUGGED IN RIGHT NEXT TO THE POOL. Sure there were caution signs, but seriously?! When my FIL asked a staff member about it he was given attitude and told they would have to “shut down the whole pool”. Who wants to be the guest that shuts down the pool and ruin it for the other guests?! No one - especially when it’s one of the most expensive hotels already to stay at. Also, they request you shower before you go into the pool but you’ll have to do that in your room because there’s nowhere to do it poolside. Third - we were looking for things in the area to do. There is no info book in your room, and the front desk staff are useless as well. Nothing to suggest to us, no local pamphlets or anything. I understand we could look online, but it’s a basic service they could offer - everywhere else does. Plus, when asked a basic question about being able to access the hotel from the door near the tavern with our keycard we were told no. So if you park on the side closer to the tavern you can’t get in. I’m confused, you’ll let random people not staying at the hotel enter the front door to use the tavern, but if I’m stuck parking on that side I have to walk ally the way around to your front door as a paying guest? Fourth - hotel room was barely cleaned. They made the beds (which I had pretty much already done), left some new glasses. Honestly, we got a bit of a discount that had NOTHING to do with the hotel (benefit of our union membership) and I STILL wouldn’t book here again. Snotty staff, the breakfast buffet sucked and the pool and/or slide seem to always be out of order. Canad Inns - this hotel is an embarrassment to your name and you’ve certainly lost a customer from any of your...

Overall fairly decent. The rooms and hotel seems mostly clean. No continental breakfast.

The pool is not easy to get to. You have to walk up and down two flights of stairs. Also it’s very dirty and flooring is worn out. One of the hot tubs was broken. I don’t like how there is a huge window that faces the lobby where random people can look into and see you swimming. Especially when you’re at the pool the reflection of the glass is such that you can’t really see out so I was surprised you can see better looking in from the other side. The pool was also kind of dirty. You could see visible dirt, looked like sand, in wading pool. When we changed after, this sand type dirt fell from our bathing suits. Also the water was freezing cold. The slide was working when we went. It goes fairly fast. When you’re in there it is dark for a bit. You have to walk up a lot of stairs to get to the top. The flooring of the wading pool is lifting/ bubbling which doesn’t seem that safe for young children to walk on because of the tripping hazard.

The location can be suspect. I’ve seen many drunk people or physical fights. A few months ago when going to the Tavern, my friend and I saw canad staff kicking out two drunk people. The manager was threatening to call the cops and dragging the person on the ground away from the hotel. The screaming and fighting makes me sick and would be horrific if children were exposed to it.

The hotel is also very loud. You can hear neighboring rooms, kids running up and down...
