We hadn't been to a Smitty's restaurant for some time and after this visit, are kicking ourselves in the butt for the delay!! Upon entering the restaurant we were very cordially greeted by a most personable young lady. When she saw me using a walker, she showed us to a table quite close to the entrance -- very thoughtful. When we looked at the menu, we were very pleased to see a good variety of meals but were a wee bit surprised at the prices. But when we saw what was delivered to the table beside us, we could plainly see why they were just a touch high -- very generous portions!! We decided to avoid burgers and instead ordered a Western Skillet and a Meat-Lovers Skillet. The coffee that were were given (our own potful) was great -- full-flavour without being overly strong and the coffee creamers that came were of three delicious varieties so it was fun experimenting as to which taste to try (did them all!!). It did not take too long before our meal arrived and both of us were greatly impressed with the appearance and size of the portions. The first bite told it all -- delicious and superbly prepared. Sad to say, that did not leave room for dessert. The waitress came back several times to check our "status" with our meals and to indulge in a light, general, pleasant conversation. All in all, a wonderful experience that we would not only HIGHLY recommend but one that we plan to repeat time and time again. Thanks to all who made this a most enjoyable and memorable stop-over. I had the fish and chips (but I replaced the fries with a poutine). The fish was amazing. I regret getting the 1 piece meal and should’ve spent the extra money for the 2 pieces of fish. The tartar sauce was perfect and I enjoyed the poutine.

I had also ordered it after reading the previous review concerning SkipTheDishes and the individual’s poutine + fish order. Poutine is generally something you eat fresh and in-person. I would not order poutine for delivery because the fries would just become soggy from the cheese.

The two servers that I interacted with were extremely friendly. Food was served very fast. They even have 40% off appetizers on Saturday which I didn’t take advantage of.

Restaurant is walking distance from a truck stop so lots of parking available for truck drivers + anyone with an RV or someone that is towing a boat etc

Worst smittys I've ever been to and by the way I work at a smittys in winnipeg. Service there is terrible 1 girl told me she couldn't help me because she was about to clock out. They have a tiny portion of the appetizers other locations offer. I was going to order wings asked for all flats was told no. Ok not the end of the world. Then I asked for half my wings to be 2 flavors half and half something smittys is known for doing and was told no they don't do that here. Excuse me? Again I work at a smittys how hard is it to count 6 wings and toss them? Really? I will never stop at this location ever again. Have you ever heard the phrase say yes to your customers to keep them happy and bring them back? I think this location depends highly on highway traffic or would likely be closed long ago.
