Food was good, service was not. We had a large group after a viewing at a funeral home down the road. When the first guests arrived, I guess they informed the staff they wouldn't be ordering food so the tables weren't set which is understandable. Once the rest of the party showed up, everyone decided they were hungry and would order food. We ordered quite a few shareable apps. One of the bruchetta breads was dropped on the floor at the table by the server, mistakes happen. Once she brings over the rest of the food, she left. She didn't bring over any plates, napkins or cutlery so our 3 tables were left to go grab our own stuff. She never Once came and checked on us or to ask how the food was. We asked for vinegar which never came. I ordered a second steamwhistle and was given a red beer. After waiting for 5 minutes for the server, I went to the bar and stood there for a few minutes with no one acknowledging me but plenty of staff around. Finally a woman comes up to use a till so I said hi my beer is wrong and then I also politely voiced our complaints about the service, having to get our own stuff, not getting things we asked for etc. They apologized and replaced the beer. The waitress comes over and sees that there's an empty beer bottle in front of me at the bar and asked if I wanted to add that to my bill. I said no the beer was wrong. It was steamwhistle. And she looks at it and goes yeah? I said that's not steamwhistle and another gentleman behind the bar agreed with me. 5 minutes later, our waitress comes to our table to say "I heard you complained to my manager about my service" which was weird in itself but I explained the issues. She argued with me saying the first table said we weren't eating. So I explained once we ordered food and it came out, we should have gotten plates, cutlery and napkins. She was not understanding what I was explaining and I got a very passive aggressive apology.
Absolutely terrible service, we just wanted somewhere to get together for a little afterwards and it was not a good experience. After we voiced our concerns, I believe it was the manager, was out asking tables how things are. Wish that service was there from the get go.
The waitress needs to lose...
Read moreI went to Zander's tonight with a "Special Needs" friend. When we arrived, the Hostess was very pleasant. I explained to her that he usually ordered off of the "Kids Menu". She said to him, "Where do you want to sit, you pick." I thought that was very nice of her. After we sat down, she even came back & said, "I didn't know if he wanted crayons or not." (Another thoughtful thing to do, often Special Needs people get ignored). The waiter came & took our orders. I decided on the "special" which was "Ribs", for $16. He asked me what I wanted for my side, (we are allowed 2). I said, "Oh I don't know". He said, "Fries, mashed, veggies or , salad?" I replied, fries & salad & he said, "Greek". I asked for a Cesar instead. Our meals came out quickly & they were delicious! When the bill came, I was confused because it showed the original cost & the salad was $4.00. The waiter came over & I questioned the bill. He showed me that a credit was at the bottom for the special & said the "salad is chargeable". I asked what he meant because I was suppose to have 2 sides, he opened a menu & said salads are extra. At that I said, "well, it would have been nice to know that before hand". If I had known that I was going to be charged for my salad, I would have made a different choice. When I asked about the sides, & he mentioned salad, that is when he should of informed me that there would be an extra charge for a salad. Even though the meal was great & the service was good, that really bothered me. I guess I will know for...
Read moreWe were here from out of town for a couple days to explore the area and decided to stop at Zanders for an early dinner after arriving to town and wow what a great start to the trip!!! Restaurant theme when we walked in was very cool with rock memorabilia throughout. We ordered a couple drinks ( my wife loved the Pink Floyd) while we were given menus. This took some time as there were so many options to choose from that we had a hard time deciding. In the end we had a spinach dip to start, which was one of the best we have ever had. For entrees I had the "Hip" burger with fries and my wife had the "beer can chicken" which came with 2 sides. I read reviews about the portions and to come hungry and those reviews were spot on!!! This burger came with battered deep fried bacon and was absolutely huge. The beer can chicken was also a massive plate of food with 3 scoops of mashed potatoes and an abundance of "Crispy" sweet potatoe fries!!
I cant even start to say how impressed we were with our server " Erin". She was so helpful with the menu options, drinks and was even pleased to answer questions on information about places in the area that we inquired about. We weren't quite finished our appetizer when they brought the entrees out and the owner "Scott" immediately came to our table and apologized for the timing and said the appetizer was on him!! I was shocked as it really wasn't even an issue for us. We felt like we couldn't have been treated better and it left us with high hopes for the rest of our trip...
