My experience at Restaurant Bohemia spans two visits, and my verdict remains unchanged: I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!
Restaurant Bohemia excels in creating a welcoming atmosphere that truly feels like home. With over three decades of family-run tradition, Marta ensures each guest feels cared for, while Miloš, the talented chef, crafts each dish from scratch with meticulous care (psst... He loves making desserts - make sure to try some). The warm and friendly service adds to the overall charm.
Every aspect, from the authentic cuisine to the meticulously curated decor and ambiance, is executed flawlessly. The restaurant boasts an impressive selection of European beers, particularly Czech varieties.
Among the highlights of my dining experience was the ham-wrapped potato salad, a delightful off-menu recommendation that exceeded expectations. The set menu offers exceptional value for money.
The Tripe soup left a lasting impression with its rich flavor profile, while the cauliflower soup was equally delightful. The rabbit dish was a rare find and definitely worth indulging in, as was the goulash and duck if available. The lamb dish is a definite must-try.
Save room for dessert, as Miloš's creations are nothing short of spectacular. Whether it's the fresh Raspberry Tart or any other fresh fruit variation, each bite is a culinary delight. And let's not forget the Bohemia pancakes, featuring a luscious yogurt filling, fresh fruits, and a decadent chocolate drizzle.
Returning to Restaurant Bohemia is always a pleasure, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit. Thank you for the memorable dining...
Read moreExcellent little gem tucked away in a residential neighbourhood in Brossard, though easy access from Taschereau. Open for breakfast and lunch only, except for Saturday dinner with reservations a must. Can seat about 25-30 people max. Authentic Czech food, so either it takes you home or you explore a new experience. We had the lunch menu: a wonderful soup, great flavours and portion. The main course was very good, though could have eaten more, beautiful selection and quality of the garnishing: a variety of pickled cabbages, beets, etc., the knedliky (knödel) was excellent quality. The desert was a fantastic raspberry cake, simple, but delicious and well balanced on fruit and cake (dough was similar to a pie/sablé with fresh raspberries baked into it). Good...
Read moreAmbiance was lovely, service was great, food was a little disappointing. Svíčková was tasty, and the bread dumplings perfect. 'Bohemian Sausage' was basically a very pink hot dog (and not that tasty). Apple strudel was ok, tho pastry could have been flakier and the chocolate drizzle distracted us from the apples. Plum dumplings were the biggest disappointment though... the dough was ok but they were served with a sprinkle of cinnamon instead of the expected tvaroh (farmer's cheese), extra butter, and powdered sugar. Those are three absolute musts. Without them the dish feels dry and a little bitter. It was a nice experience overall but I'm not in a...
