I was recently here. And I will start off this review with FOOD SAFE 101: CLEAN, THEN SANITIZE.... Okay. So the definition of clean, is cleaned!! Not dirty? And sanitize is so it's disinfected. Sanitize does not mean cleaning....
Why?
I come here. To have a relaxed dinner after a very hectic week of nonsense from a medical insurance paperwork runaround and I simply wasn't in the mood to deal with making dinner. Sure sure. Next door superstore can buy $15 massive 4 portions. Take home and heat chicken Alfredo. But I just wanted food. So I came here. To Boston pizza
Sat me by the door as requested. (Dim restaurants hurts my eyes gives me a headache)
The table: STICKY, COVERED WITH CRAYON BITS where kids colored off the paper and onto the table, a crumb of something stuck to the table across from where I sat, and rings of soda cup dried and sticky.... Just gross.
So I barely wanted to rest my sleeves on the rim of the table but whatever...
Get the pasta I had in mind. It came pretty quick. All was fine. I was really unhappy with the dirty table. I was given my SODA on a paper coaster so I 100% for sure know that ring on the table was from someone else's soda!
And I was given a glass of water. I touched the rings on the table. They come OFF!
Anyone that took some passion and cleaned the tables properly it would have wiped off! Simple water and a cloth would do it. No elbow grease.
I wasn't happy about it. And I didn't say anything. But I got home I got very sick.
There's a saying: if the tables and such are dirty where you can see.... How much dirtier is it where you can't see? (Kitchen).
No idea what made me sick. But I was pretty mad after spending what I did and sitting at a dirty table and then getting sick from the meal.
So I wrote to CS.. they forwarded me to the manager of the store. And the manager gave me this sorry excuse that was sounding like they were annoyed I "couldn't comprehend that their sanitizer they use leaves a sticky feeling on the table...." And when u point out that sanitizing comes after cleaning how does one explain the soda glass rings and crayon bits and then they go "okay so like I said I already had a chat with my staff to clean the tables better and like I said our sanitizer leaves it sticky"
well then, MAYBE get a different sanitizer. I use sanitizer EVERY SINGLE DAY AT WORK! And it most certainly doesn't leave any surface smelling or sticky. Clean tables dont feel sticky or bumpy from residue of dirty stuff.
Your food prices have soared. The tables have gotten dirtier. And it just seems like care is not in the formula. I got no issues with the price. I came in expecting what it was charged at. But getting sick, and having dirty tables that left my hands feeling just slightly tacky was so gross.
I did message Fraser health. Cuz someone should come and inspect this place. I got sick. And I wonder why.....
Very disappointed in the way the manager handled the "response" it felt so fake the reply to "I am unhappy" and that "this is how we do it but okey I will tell them to do better okay???" Is how the emails came across. Like it was beneath what they care to be handed to deal with and just doing it cuz CS told them to reply to my complaint.
I'd really like to know:
What the name of this sticky sanitizer is?
Why the company chooses to use this particular one when there's others out there that isn't sticky afterwards.
How often they even change the cloths they use to "wipe down" tables, lots of restaurants like to use the same towel the whole night. Which honestly would get sooo gross after a few tables.
I just looked them up. Guess they still haven’t resolved the sanitizing...
Read moreCame here with my friends, we were quite a big group. Food was delicious and everything was fine, but there was this one hostess/waitress that was unbelievably rude.
We didn’t have a reservation, so the kind blonde haired lady at the front put our name on the waitlist and told us the wait would be 30 minutes. Completely fine, we didn’t mind waiting. Halfway through waiting, the sweet lady with blonde hair left and this girl with pretty long curly hair came and took over. We were still waiting and at this point over 30 minutes had passed. So, I ask the curly haired girl how much longer the wait would be, and she seemed very unamused. I guess there was a misunderstanding and she thought that we had just walked in and not that we have already been waiting for a while. She told us the wait was about 30 minutes. I was obviously shocked and confused, so I told her that we’ve already been waiting for 30 minutes and that we didn’t just come in, so are you saying we will be waiting for another 30 minutes? She didn’t like that, and responded with “no, it should be a couple more minutes. it’s very busy and our waiters are very stressed, OKAY?!” and gave me a very passive aggressive head nod with the fakest smile I have ever seen, then just walked away. I was shocked. I can understand that it’s Friday night, which means it’s busy, and that she might’ve had a rough day, but don’t take it out on me! You are working in customer service, you should be treating all your customers with respect and kindness, regardless of the situation. I wasn’t even being rude or anything to initiate her snappy attitude.
Anyways, we were seated by someone else and we had a different waiter. He was super kind and sweet, honestly the best service I have ever experienced.
After we were done eating our food, the same curly haired girl comes to our table and asks if we were done and if she can take away our plates. We said yes and she started collecting our plates. While she was picking up a plate, a crust fell onto the table. My friend went to grab the piece of crust to put it on one of the plates she still hasn’t picked up yet (just to be nice—even though she was being rude to us earlier). She literally snatched the crust out of his hand, VERY aggressively, and throws it onto the stack of plates she was already holding, and she let out a loud sigh to show us she was still upset. This is where I was honestly mind-blown. During this interaction, we did not say or do anything that could have possibly bothered her, and if anything my friend was trying to be nice and help her.
Everyone else was super nice and happy to help us out with anything. Unfortunately though, the girl with the curly hair really ruined the...
Read moreFood was good but service was not. The chubby server with glasses and hair in a bun August 8 2023 @ around 2:30 pm (we left at 3:30 and the server lady was there throughout our entire visit) was rude and didn’t smile at all. She literally behaved like an angry robot. She seemed lazy and like she doesn’t want to do her job. She spilled water all over the table, which she didn’t show any intention of cleaning up. We literally had to ask her to clean her mess. She acted like her wiping up all the water she had spilled was a huge inconvenience, like we shouldn’t have had to even ask her to wipe the water, any other sever would’ve apologized and cleaned it on her own? She never even said sorry. Her attitude and demeanour the entire time even after the water issue was dealt with was poor and that just made for a super uncomfortable experience. I understand working in this kind of job can be stressful but it was a quiet Tuesday afternoon and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. We were nothing but nice to her, she gave so much attitude about having to clean the water off the table and after she gave us our food she didn’t really check on us or show any interest in seeing if we needed anything else. My peach quencher also tasted and looked like water… I’ve had the quenchers before and they are supposed to be fruity not boring like a normal glass of water. The service here is so bad and weird that I’ve decided I will never come back. I came here with my relatives and we all agree the service was embarrassing and very very low. We still left a decent tip but what we left was definitely too much for such a poor service. I will be glad to visit other locations but this one? Never again. We only came because it was close by to the hotel we are staying at. I was so excited to bring my family here for a yummy lunch but we were so put off by the server that we left within an hour and didn’t order much food. After seeing her behaviour, we just wanted to leave. Not only did she not smile once but she seemed genuinely angry and annoyed that she works there… find a new job sweetie and I hope the manager sees this cuz whoever does the hiring here is a clown. I wish I had gotten her name but the employees don’t even wear name tags… hold your workers accountable cus this experience was a total letdown. We would’ve stayed longer and ordered more if the server wasn’t so...
