They recently opened and are operating as a soft-start, they are still ironing out some kinks it seems which is reasonable to expect. We really enjoyed the food and would like to list some suggestions for improvement as we would love to see this place We recently went for brunch. It was fairly busy (the server said it was the busiest they’ve been this far and perhaps thus came as a bit of a surprise). Two of our meals came in a reasonable amount of time. 1 came about 45 minutes afterwards with no explanation as to why it was so late. They did acknowledge this and apologized and provided a complimentary chia pudding as a means of apology. We overheard the table next to us had the same issue with one meal not showing up with the others. We ordered coffees and when the server refilled the coffee, she took the used cups to the kitchen, refilled them and then returned them to our table. We had no idea who the used cups originally belonged to and would put forth the suggestion that the server bring the pot to the table so as avoid this issue. We also struggled to have adequate milk for our coffee and might suggest the server check in as they drop off the milk to ensure there was enough provided. With this being said the server was very lovely and clearly with time and more experience, will improve. I expect though as time moves forward and the restaurant gains more experience and confidence this will be a non-issue. The food was very good, elegantly presented and a very good portion at a competitive price. It can be quite loud in there when the restaurant is full-we couldn’t hear ourselves at our table. If the owner is reading this I’d suggest some type of sound proofing to make the experience a bit more pleasant.

Overall we would 100% return and recommend it to others despite the...

For context, I visited during their first week of opening, so there were a number of issues that are likely to be fixed as they get more comfortable.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is a modern brunch spot. Clean and crisp decor that isn't overly flashy and makes for a nice instagram meal spot for your social media.

The food follows in this trend. Very well plated dishes that taste simply superb. I would recommend the parmesean fries for a solid pick for the table. I ordered the Burnt Brie and Figs sandwich and later added on a Croque Madame. The Brie and Fig was a good balance of sweet and savoury. While it will not fill you up if you have a large appetite, it should be enough for most. The Croque Madam was a mess. It was a beautiful and tasty mess that I would happily have again. Filling. Savoury. An all round all star.

Service. This is tough. The staff themselves were amazing. 10/10 no complaints. However, the time for food to come out was...unacceptable. I ordered the Brie and Fig first and 10 minutes later the croque madam. After 30 or so minutes, the croque madam arrived, and then another hour went by before the Brie and Fig finally came. I'm sure this is a momentary issue that they'll address soon, but as it is now, I can't recommend coming here unless you have a lot of free time and only in groups of 1 or 2.

To the owner, I'm not angry or upset. I am genuinely curious though on why the Brie and Fig sandwich might have taken an hour to make, considering it is largely raw ingredients. Please feel free to message...

I was walking my dog in this neighborhood one day. I was looking at the menu outside of the Burnt Orange Cafe when the cashier came out to say hi to my dog because she loved Poms. I asked about the café and she said they were only open for 7 months but have a good client base already. I told her I will come back one day to try out the food since I'm always looking for good places to eat. That day had arrived. My wife and I wanted to try out the Burnt Orange Cafe. It's located on Hastings St close to Willingdon. We were lucky there was a small parking lot around the corner since parking is a premium on the street. Burnt Orange is a small but very nicely decorated Cafe. Parisian style decor having pictures of Paris framed with moldings on the walls and sconced lights. There was only one waitress to serve and clean up. We were lucky because the Cafe was full with one table open. We sat down and looked over the menu. Everything looked good so I picked the chicken waffle and my wife picked the breakfast plate that had eggs, potato, Avocado, spinach and cranberry toast. Our drinks and food came at a reasonable time. Our breakfasts tasted really good. I was not surprised since I read the Google reviews giving this café 4 - 5 star ratings. The prices here are very much in line with most of the restaurants out there that serve breakfast, brunch or lunch. The Burnt Orange will be another one of my...
