Today, on April 13th, a Saturday, we took our son to Burnaby Rail for a train ride. Arriving a bit late around 4:20 PM, we were aware that they closed at 4:45 PM. Before entering, the staff at the gate informed us that they couldn't guarantee a ride due to our late arrival, which we understood.

Once inside, the line wasn't long, so my wife and son got in line before 4:25 PM. I went to get tokens, but unfortunately, only one window was open, and there were three or four people ahead of me buying snacks. It took nearly 10 minutes to get through the line.

When it was finally my turn, I asked the cashier for 10 tokens. An older gentleman behind her mentioned something about them being sold out. The cashier, in a cold tone, confirmed this and covered the box of tokens with her hand, as if I might try to take them. Despite explaining that my family was already in line, she refused to sell me the tokens.

I asked once more, but she asked the old gentleman but he did not even responded. It was disheartening to see my son's disappointment after eagerly anticipating the train ride. We had driven almost an hour to get there.

We've been to Burnaby Rail many times before, and the staff are always very nice, but after this experience, we won't be returning. If they're going to stop people from riding, they should just close the line instead of letting people wait without selling them tokens. After all, these rides are for kids.

If my wife and son hadn't been in line, I wouldn't have left this 1-star review; they were already...

The trains and the environment are absolutely great.. my daughter had a wonderful time at the birthday party we were attending. What ruined it was the interaction that came later.

I had a horrible experience with an older man that told me his name was Tom inside the train exhibit. My daughter accidentally reached out in excitement and touched a part of the train, she is three years old keep in mind, and in no way meant any harm. Nothing was broken, nothing was harmed. I apologized immediately. Tom was EXTREMELY rude to me and was quick to attack me on my parenting. He accused me and spoke to me in a very unprofessional manner for a children’s attraction. If you can’t handle being around children and are that grumpy you unfortunately should not work in a family environment where accidents can happen and there is little kids. My daughter was upset that she got in “trouble”. I don’t believe someone with that grumpy attitude towards children and parents should be working in that environment, and the way he spoke to me was very off guard.

Do better Tom, and Burnaby Central Railways should be aware of their workers behaviour which ruins their reputation and a guests experience. Be polite, understand kids will sometimes be kids and when someone apologies over a genuine mistake, don’t be so nasty.

Unfortunately won’t come back due to this negative interaction. I’m sure it’s not the first time he has...

🚂 All Aboard for Family Fun at Burnaby Central Railway! 🚂

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We took the kids to Burnaby Central Railway on a sunny Saturday afternoon, and it was an absolute blast! Located just a short drive from Metro Vancouver, this miniature train park offers a unique and fun experience for all ages. The ride itself is about 10-15 minutes long, taking you through tunnels, over bridges, and around lush greenery, giving everyone that nostalgic train ride feel.

🚂 The trains are detailed replicas of real-world locomotives, including steam and diesel engines. Our kids were thrilled to ride on them, and it’s clear why this place draws about 100,000 visitors each year. Watching the excitement on their faces as the train whistled and chugged along was priceless!

🛤️ The setting at Confederation Park is perfect for a family outing. There’s a small museum showcasing model trains, a picnic area, and a concession stand serving up classic treats like ice cream and hot dogs. Everything is well-maintained by the friendly volunteers who run the railway, making it a welcoming place to spend a few hours.

🏞️ If you’re looking for a memorable activity that combines fun, history, and a bit of adventure, Burnaby Central Railway is a must-visit. It’s a great way to enjoy some quality family time while exploring one of Burnaby’s hidden gems. We’ll definitely be back for...
