Staff are welcoming and prices are reasonable. Biggest feedback across the board is that the drinks are overly sweetened; this is especially true for the fruit based drinks. For the Milk-based drinks, I find them all to be a bit too weak. Pearls are chewy and have great texture.

My review and rating of the crafted drinks 1; Yame matcha-10/10. The matcha is the most unique I've had and has strong creamy and nutty notes.

2; Uji matcha-8.5/10. I would consider the taste typical in other stores. The flavour and strength of the matcha is nowhere close to the Yame matcha but still good. Slightly floral and sweet grassy notes. This matcha tastes almost identical to the matcha at Paragon, for those familiar. I would recommend no or half sweetener for this drink.

3; Jasmine Yin Hao -8/10. The best non-matcha drink I have tried. The flavour is the strongest of the milk teas I have tried. Although still on the weaker side, the signature floral jasmine taste comes through. I would recommend half sweet for this drink.

4; Oolong -7/10. I think the flavour is lost in the drink. It's not strong as I would expect it to be. I wouldn't go out of my way to get this. I would recommend half sweet for this drink.

5; Osmanthus and Golden black- both 5/10. Both teas were weak with only a hint of flavour and it wasn't good on my opinion. Osmanthus was floral but more perfumey and fruity. The Golden black barely tasted like anything. There was a bit of chocolate/black tea taste as described but it does not resemble HK milk tea in the slightest. It tasted like a very watered down Hojicha. I wouldn't get either of these drinks again.

6;Passionfruit Mango-8/10. The passionfruit is the strongest profile but the mango and jasmine comes through. Only criticism is that the drink is too sweet. I'm not sure if it's due to the pulp or syrup that's used. If the drink could taste the same (maybe up the Jasmine a bit) but cut on the sweetness it would be better.

7; Strawberry Matcha ; 6.5/10. Not a memorable drink. A friend raved about it and it was the first drink I tried from them but I was underwhelmed. I don't think it tasted bad, and it's great they use real strawberry, but nothing stood out and I wouldn't get it again.

8; Lychee Strawberry Tea ; 6.5/10 I didn't really taste the Jasmine but there was a hint of tea. Absolutely no lychee flavour however. The strawberry was the overpowering flavour here (again, real strawberry bits which is great). Tasted like any other strawberry green tea you can get.

9; Matcha shake; 8/10. If you like a gentle slush this is for you. It's got more of a liquid texture than creamy/thick or icy. It took several sips for the matcha flavour to come through but once it did, I would say it was good.

10; Daily special milk tea float; 6.5/10. we ended up getting the matcha version so maybe that was our mistake. There was what looked like matcha ice cream but it melted pretty fast. Either way it didn't add anything to the drink. Personally I wouldn't get the matcha version again as it tasted like their regular matcha latte.

Matcha mango- I appreciate the fresh mango chunks but unfortunately the mango is inconsistent. I have had one where the mango was sweet but another time the it was so sour it overpowered the drink. I think a more consistent approach to testing the mango or making a puree would be more suitable. 7.5/10

Matcha guava- overall a good sweet option. I think they use a guava juice as a base. Unfortunately it tastes more guava than matcha. I wouldn't get again 6.5/10

Mango slush and watermelon slush- real fruit. Tasty and refreshing. Similar to other BBT stores. Again, mango sweetness will affect the drink. The watermelon is fine but the mango tasted a bit bland. 7.5/10

Matcha Pandan (seasonal drink as of June) 10/10. Delicious. Amazing. The matcha and Pandan foam/cream(?) pair so well together in flavour and consistency. The drink is sweet but not overly (though subjective as my friend found it a little too sweet). Strong but not overpowering...

I swear all the Reviews are fake! 😡 and also the bubble tea was MID at best☹️ don't waste your money here 🚫‼️

EDIT: changing review to 1* for the comment owners left for justifying their low quality matcha is good. The term "uji matcha" does not reflect quality and grade of matcha it is. Matcha is my favourite, and I've never had matcha this terrible before at any establishment. if they can't even get matcha right for a bbt place that focuses on tea lattes and fruit teas, idk what else the are able to get right. 😒 ALSO! I had a sip of the hojicha drink my friend ordered and it tasted also no better than Chatime's roasted milk tea (their hojicha) so... I will NEVER even give this place a second try because of all these reasons I've outlined. This is my opinion and my opinion is based of plenty of matcha I've purchased and tried for myself to make at home, and pently of matcha lattes I've had at all kinds of establishments.

Prior to edit: I came here first week of Oct 2023, and the owners said they just opened for a few days. But by then there's already 60 reviews.... like what??? And now checking reviews again, it's 250+ reviews.... that is just completely unbelievable to get in 4 weeks when most places I go to that have been open for MANY YEARS have same amount or less reviews.... please reference Chatime a few blocks away that's a 3* for me.

I ordered the matcha latte with pearls, and it was even worse than what Chatime can produce, and chatime is at most a 3* for me. The matcha powder they use is worse quality than what I can buy from Amazon, and there was so little of it in my drink, it was practically a milk drink with some...

A must try bubble tea place on The Heights! Cushioned between Madison Ave & Rosser Ave on Hastings, is a local treat!

Every-time I’ve visited the staff has welcomed upon entry, and always assists in a positive & kind nature. The menu’s layout is clean, simple and easy to digest, places to the left of the till.

I always get the Rooibos Milk Tea with Pearls & Oat milk.. it’s so good! While you’re there for a drink, definitely check out the selection of local artists stock that is available! There’s handmade items of all kinds: crochet, tea boxes, earrings, keychains, the list goes on! Teaspoon & Co also has a selection of reusable bubble tea cups & straws available for purchase!

Support small businesses like this one! Sure sometimes it can be expensive, but if you want good quality served with kindness then this is the place to be!

Accessibility Notes: • There is a small ramp in the entrance (that leads from the door entry up to the main) which allows for folks with wheelchairs to get inside easily, the only issue may be the door as it’s somewhat heavy. • Small amount of seating: bench located on the side of the ramp, and 1-2 two person tables inside the shop. Outside there’s also 1-2 two seating tables as well. Most of the time I just sit outside for a bit as The Heights is quite peaceful to look at while sipping! Not far from here is a shoppers drug mart that has cement blocks if you can’t find seating! • Between the tables inside and the tightness of the shop it may be hard to traverse but the whole aesthetic fits nicely!

Keep locals in business! If you like bubble tea & places like Makers, then this is the...

Very aesthetic and cute tea shop hidden away on Howe St in downtown. They’re very environmentally conscious, so bring your own cup if you can. They use biodegradable bamboo straws, and “butterfly cups” for take out drink (which does not require a lid OR straw to drink). The store also sells loose leaf teas in beautiful metal gift containers, and easy DIY bubble tea kits. Staff are very attentive, patient and helpful. Parking is quite difficult, so I parked at a streetside meter nearby (less than 5min walk). My order: Mango Passion Fruit Green Tea (half sweet): The highlight of the drink for me was that there were real fruit chunks in the drink (mango and raspberry). I liked having the pearls on the side, since pearls get hard very quickly in icy drinks - this way, I can add pearls as I drink to ensure perfect chewiness throughout. I didn’t taste the passionfruit though, but the mango and strong green tea flavour together was tasty. I had this pitcher drink at half sweetness, which balances the sweetness from the pearls well. There is quite a bit of ice in the pitcher, so I think it can comfortably serve 3 people at most (menu says it serves between 2-4 people). This drink is only available for dine-in (no takeout), and as a pitcher (no single cups). Hojicha Melonpan: this was a bit dry, so its probably best reheated. The crumble on top was pretty good, but the hojicha taste was quite mild overall.

My favourite matcha spot in Vancouver area! I’ve been a huge fan of Teaspoons for a while as I’ve been ordering their matcha online. First time popping into the store today and I am so impressed. This is a shop that truly cares about matcha, where it comes from, how it’s prepared and are conscious about the matcha situation. Teaspoons carries three types of matcha: Uji, Yame and Hibi. Their uji is more grassy, vegetal and is used in most of their cafe drinks. It’s great with the sweeter combo matcha drinks like the mango! I had the mango matcha and I absolutely loved it. They use fresh fruit - no syrups or jams and it added a great natural sweetness and complimented the uji so well! We also got the yame matcha - which is my favourite - this matcha is naturally sweet, earthy, nutty and delicious. Great on its own but also great in a latte. Both matchas were prepared really well with great ratios, whisked properly and smooth and delicious. The shop also support so many local businesses - they have an entire wall of local shops from cute ceramics to keychains. They also have cookies from another local shop and mochi! We got the mochi from T Sparrow! The mango cream mochi and taro cream mochi - both were delicious, prepared fresh to order, and so soft! Prices are very reasonable for the quality they provide and owner is very sweet and friendly.
