李家小馆 — Restaurant in Calgary

I have been a regular customer of this restaurant and will not be anymore. Do not expect any service here, the servers are acting like you would be grateful to even get a chance to have a meal here. Matter of fact, the waitresses could only get a job because of the chef's work. If you are expecting good service with good food then don't even bother because there is only the latter. The waitress argued with me saying that I didn't understand how "reservation" works. I reserved a table for 4 at 7.30 PM, came in with no tables whatsoever, waited for 25 mins until one table is open. Another group which came after us got placed in because "they called earlier for a table at 7.30". Got a call at 8.10pm, 10 mins after I left, asking if I was still there waiting because I was finally allowed to sit. I simply asked why would you take reservations if you couldn't fulfill them and was told that "oh it's our fault you don't know how reservations work". I guess the reservations are just spots on a waiting list now? If you reserve at 7.30pm, you have to come and wait 40 mins till you can sit in and only God knows how long is it going to be until you are served dishes. That is how their reservations work. They can have customers only because they are the only Chinese restaurant with decent taste in the area. Hopefully the servers will take it all...

First of all, I don’t usually give one star to restaurants, but for this place I wish I could give them a zero star! First time I tried this restaurant is with my family , just after have the dinner here, my mom and dad had very serious FOOD POISONING FOR THE WHOLE NIGHT ! I want to give this restaurant a second chance, so I visit this restaurant again this week with my friends . However we found a HAIR IN OUR FOOD when we almost halfway fish this dish! I called the serve immediately, she did not give us apologies. And when we choose not to give the tip due to the worst customer service and having hair in the dish, she even asked us: is there any reason except having a hair in your dish. What ridiculous question ! Having a hair is already a serious problem what else do you want to hear from us? The food is too salty?The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced? Won’t recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. And if you don’t want to have food poisoning and worst customer service please choose...

Poor service. It’s a Monday night for dinner. Made a phone call to reserve a table at 18:00 when we arrived there’s no table available. We have to stay for 5 minutes and finally got a table. A group of 13 people arrived later got their table before us. Then it’s the waiting game for the waiter to take our order. We have to literally wait for 15 minutes and the waitress still didn’t come to take our order. So I had to leave the seat and go to order food in the front desk. While the waiter behind the desk walking around and ignore us on purpose. Sigh. Was told the food was good by a coworker but the service… it was barely there. Could have given zero star if it is an option here. Next time skip the waiting game and order food directly from here might be...
