I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bawa Sweet and Restaurant and indulging in their delightful yellow dal tadka with chibar chutney, expertly prepared by the talented chef Sandhu. We also ordered gulab jaman and they were also $2.25 per piece (price was by weight but that's what you get). Ordered 2 laddus. And finally 4 samosas.
Gulab jaman: these were good
Samosa: these were average though yellow color had been added (one might think that's due to turmeric)
Laddoo: Were so bad that we had to throw away after consuming a quarter
Rasgulla: These were not only stale but very bad taste. Were at least a day old if not 2-3. My son who loves Rasgulla, could eat more after eating half. Otherwise usually he'd finish anything sweet. Came to his mother and said mommy I can't eat this. It's bad. This is so unfair. Just throw away stale items and don't rob innocent people.
Just for context, our visit was October 1st at 1 p.m.
I can't give more than one star for food, due to the awful experience with Rasgulla as well as laddoo.
Service was awful too. The person was extremely slow as well as could not...
Read morerecently visited Bawa Sweets and Restaurants, and unfortunately, it was not a great experience. To start with, the prices are completely unreasonable for the quality of food being served. For what I paid, I expected a much higher standard of both taste and preparation, but that wasn't the case. They charged $4 and $5 for the same garlic naan, and gave the fake explanation in rush.
The food was undercooked and lacked flavor. It was clear that the dishes were rushed and not made with care. The texture was off, and some items were actually raw in the middle, which was both unpleasant and disappointing.
It's a real shame because the ambiance of the place seemed inviting, and I was hoping for a much better meal. But given the poor quality and inflated prices, I won’t be returning.
I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want quality food at...
