Samosa House in Calgary Cityscape NE offers a culinary journey that delights the taste buds with a diverse range of Indian dishes. During our visit, we explored an array of menu items, creating a satisfying and flavorful experience.
To start, we sampled their refreshing beverages - the Blue Raspberry Lemonade and Peachy Iced Tea. Both were well-balanced, providing a pleasant contrast to the upcoming bold flavors. The Fish Pakora was a crispy and flavorful appetizer, setting a promising tone for the rest of the meal.
For the main course, we indulged in the Paneer Matar Methi Malai with Spinach Cheese Naan, Jeera Rice, Chilly Paneer, Afghani Chicken Sizzler, and Tandoori Chicken Sizzler. Each dish showcased distinct spices and ingredients, delivering a rich and authentic taste of Indian cuisine. The paneer dish was creamy and aromatic, complemented perfectly by the flavorful naan and aromatic jeera rice.
The sizzlers, both Afghani Chicken and Tandoori Chicken, were sizzling with bold flavors and perfectly cooked meats. The Chilly Paneer added a spicy kick to the meal, catering to those who enjoy a bit of heat in their dishes.
One notable feature of Samosa House is the extensive variety of samosas, offering a range of fillings to suit different preferences. Additionally, the inclusion of Indian sweets added a delightful sweetness to conclude our meal on a high note.
The dining area is beautifully designed, providing a spacious and comfortable setting for gatherings with friends and family. Our host, Uday, played a significant role in making our visit memorable. His warmth and attentiveness enhanced the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, Samosa House in Calgary Cityscape NE is highly recommended for its diverse menu, delicious offerings, and inviting ambiance. Whether you're a fan of traditional Indian dishes or looking to explore new flavors, this restaurant is...
Read moreI want everyone to know that we weren't planning to go to this restaurent but it was absolutely a blessing! I along with family went to an event to celebrate bengali new year which ended quite late. We were starving and ended up coming to a restaurent right next to it. They refused to let us in because it was 10:45 pm on a Sunday! We went to another one, and same happened. Then we stumbled upon this place, and when they saw we all were so hungry and wanted to order food, they welcomed us warmly and took our orders fast. They sat us on a nice booth and their customer service was excellent. The Nepali girl was doing her best to serve us with cold beverages and bringing extra ice. The food came so quickly, and my God! It was so fresh and so delicious. We had Kara chicken, tandoori platter, lots of garlic Naan, chicken biriyani. When we were ordering naan, the manager suggested us that the naan breads were big enough to share. So sweet of him. We still ordered it to take left overs home. Even though we were the last guests and it was so late, they never rushed us. They had a sweet smile on their face and asked us if we need anything else. They also didn't turn off music or lights. The food just so good that we decided we will be back for many more times since some of live right next them. When we were leaving they even asked if we want to try deserts . I think the owner came by to the restaurent and he was very kind and wished us well for our new years celebration. What a wholesome place! I highly refer this restaurent. It was clean, well designed with excellent food and services. Thank you so much guys for making our night...
Read moreThe food was pretty good. Some of the best Indian I have had in Alberta. Great flavour and spice. We had the combos and while the flavour was great, I wouldn’t order the combos again as the actual entree portion was very small. Also the service wasn’t that great. The server brought the food but didnt come back so we had to go to them for napkins and our additional food, as well as our glasses were not refilled. Delicious samosas though the tamarind sauce tasted like there was barely any tamarind and mostly sugar.
As delicious as the food was, we will not be returning as the whole place was grimy and dirty and weirdly pro-violence. The white booth seating had prints from where people sitting moved the grime. The walls were scratched and dirty. It is easy to see where the floor has been mopped, as the grime was dark and thick along the edges (especially noticeable on the bathroom floor). The staff bathroom didn’t have a way for people to dry their hands (no towels or dryer). The dishes that we were served with had finger prints on them. The TV in the front had pictures displayed, one was a small boy holding a very large gun and a man who had been beaten quite badly and his face was covered with blood. It was very gruesome.
I love Indian food and often go to Indian restaurants. I have never complained about one previously, but if this one is this dirty where customer are, the kitchen must...
