Dear Fast-Food Employees of Lakeview Dairy Queen,
I would just like to thank- you for all the hard work you put in not on the prepare my food and ice cream but to also get it to me as fast as you can. Thank-you for working holidays when every other restaurant is closed. I know you may not exactly like your job, but you are valued greatly. You are the people we go to when we don’t feel like cooking. I would also like to apologize on behalf of anyone who ever made you feel like your job was beneath them. I am very sorry for all the rude people you encounter throughout the day. I am sorry for the people that act a fool and are impatient. I know I am only one person, but I would just like you all to know that I appreciate everything you do, from taking my order to making it. Without each and every one of you, I would not be able to do the things I need to do. Without you, our busy lives would be even busier. Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you are just an insignificant fast-food employee, because if you were they would not be at the restaurant eating. Don’t let a rude costumer get you down, you will always have others who are thankful for you being there.
Also shoutout to the people working the morning/lunch shift this Friday 9/16 especially the guy working there. Taking the orders of all the students and construction workers who are all so loud and not listening to their orders he's incredibly of how he handle and manage the lineup up through the door outside and giving them their orders with a smile that will melts your heart away. Thank you 😊 you all deserve a great thank you for doing your job to the fullest you can!! 10 out of 5 Customer Service!!

Read moreI think the Business Development Consultant of Dairy Queen Canada for Calgary must be asleep at the wheel. After speaking with the head office when they reached out to me about my experience at a Dairy Queen in the deeper SW about 10 days ago I thought I would try a different location in Calgary.
This one has a washroom that is in complete disarray and in need of a renovation. There are closets bigger tha this washroom. There is no way a handicap could get in here.
It is strange because most franchisors require a renovation every 7 to 10 years to help improve sales and stay up to date with current trends and expectations of customers. This place is ancient and untouched.
The staff were attentive and polite. They were clean and easy to speak with.
The chocolate dipped ice cream was a hit, but the banana split was really scint on strawberry and pineapple toppings. The chocolate topping had an ok amount. The banana had some dark bruises on it which I know doesn't change the taste but doesn't look appetizing.
Now I am wondering if there is a DQ in Calgary that has a clean washroom, super banana splits and...

We visited this location a couple of days ago, and every corner of the restaurant was filthy. The door was disgustingly dirty, the floor stained with food spills and grime, the service counter was sticky from spilled pop (or something). Even the coin 'wishing well' looked like it hadn't been wiped down since being installed (likely when the restaurant opened eons ago). I felt like I was going to get food poisoning just being there!
I found myself looking around at all the dirt and grime as I ate, all the while three staff members stood behind the counter with nothing to do. Here's an idea: grab a soapy cloth and wipe things down instead of standing around like you're bored!
I'll be calling Corporate Dairy Queen about this one, because although these are franchised, they must surely have certain standards to uphold.
It would be in your best interest to avoid this location and select a cleaner, better-managed location. Worth driving out of...
