Dell Cafe — Restaurant in Calgary

This place has great staff. Super friendly and understanding. I have tried to redeem them with their food quality multiple times. I’ve tried a range of items from the pancake breakfast, burger, chow mein, S&P squid, you name it. Thinking “ok. Maybe it’s just a bad day or a non specialty dish” but each time I order there I’m fairly disappointed with the quality. The S&P squid was mushy and tough, way too greasy. The burger patty was great but the bun was tough and hard to get through. The pancakes were great but since they were using frozen blueberries it was still raw in the middle. When my partner and I got the chow mein, the noodles were partially undercooked and just filled with grease. This place is so cute! I loved how the space is used, as it has quite a lot of seating. This was a spontaneous dinner date for my hubby & we found it very pleasant. The service was great, food came out hot & was well prepared. The atmosphere is cozy diner meets shabby chic, and the colors are MCM vibe. We ordered the almond chicken, the beef and broccoli and a side of each the rice, & fried rice. The almond chicken was nice white meat, crisp battered and mild but tasty dipping sailuce. Both rices were cooked nicely and tasted great. Our favorite though, was the Beef and broccoli. The veg in it was perfectly steamed and still crisp, the beef was thin shaved and melts in your mouth and the sauce on the beef and broccoli was like comfort food. I work in Bowness and if i order food I always order from The Dell as I really enjoy their food. Well tonight put a different view on the situation on the company they are. I ordered a Single Combo, 2 Spring rolls and Milk before tax the cost was $22.58 so it should be free delivery over $20 according to website. Tonight she gave me a total of $28 because she added delivery onto that, I said delivery was free she said no after $30.
