My recent visit to the Denny's at Macleod Trail was truly a standout experience, and it was all thanks to our exceptional server, Angali. In all my years of dining out, I can honestly say I've rarely encountered a server who embodies the spirit of outstanding customer service as genuinely as Anjali did. From the moment we were seated in her section, Anjali's warmth and attentiveness were immediately apparent. She greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel welcome. My girlfriend has a food allergy, and Anjali took the time to listen carefully to our needs. What truly impressed me was her proactive approach. When our food was brought to the table by another staff member, Anjali actually rushed over to double-check my girlfriend's plate, just to provide that extra layer of reassurance. Before I got my food she saw that it was wrong and sent in back immediately. This level of care and attention to detail is something you rarely see. But Anjali's exceptional service didn't stop at our table. I also observed her interacting with a group of dads who were enjoying lunch while their children played contentedly in a nearby booth. Anjali was incredibly patient and accommodating with them, checking in regularly and ensuring their needs were met without being intrusive. It was clear she had a natural ability to connect with all her customers and create a positive atmosphere. Beyond her attentiveness and genuine kindness, Anjali was also incredibly efficient. Our coffee cups were never empty – she seemed to have an uncanny ability to anticipate when we needed a refill. She was quick, organized, and yet never seemed rushed or flustered, even though it was clear she was managing several tables with the same high level of care. What truly elevated our experience was Anjali's personality. She was funny and engaging, making our breakfast feel not just like a transaction but like a pleasant interaction. It was evident that she genuinely enjoys her job and interacting with people. Looking around her section, I could see other customers smiling and laughing, clearly enjoying her service just as much as we were. The entire area felt more cheerful and welcoming because of her presence. It's servers like Anjali who truly make a difference in a dining experience. She didn't just do her job; she went above and beyond in every way, demonstrating a level of care and dedication that is truly rare. If you have the pleasure of visiting this Denny's, I wholeheartedly recommend asking for Anjali. You're guaranteed to be well taken care of and leave with a smile. Thank you, Anjali, for making our breakfast so enjoyable! You are a true asset to this...
Read moreLet me start by saying: I did not expect to have a life-altering experience at Denny’s… but here we are. From the moment we walked through those hallowed glass doors, we knew we were somewhere special. The air? Perfectly seasoned with the scent of sizzling bacon and syrupy dreams. The lighting? A warm, golden glow that can only be described as "breakfast ambiance on steroids." But none of that prepared us for Joanne C — our legendary server, guardian of griddles, and absolute QUEEN of hospitality. This woman isn’t just a server; she’s a culinary spirit guide. She greeted us like old friends, anticipated our every need, and had coffee refills flying in like magic. Her smile? Brighter than the flash on a waffle maker. Her timing? Impeccable. Her recommendations? Life-saving. (Get the Moons Over My Hammy — trust me.) And the food? We’re talking fluffy pancakes that taste like they were kissed by angels, hash browns so crispy they defy physics, and eggs cooked with the kind of precision that would make a Michelin chef weep. Every bite was a warm hug from the universe. Joanne C made sure our table was a VIP experience, even though we were just a couple of tired, hungry people looking for comfort food — and boy, did she deliver. She checked in without hovering, joked with us like we were regulars, and made sure everything was beyond perfect. If Denny’s gave out gold medals for servers, she’d need a bigger neck. Long story short: If you haven’t been to this Denny’s and sat in Joanne C’s section, have you...
Read moreI am not usually one to give bad reviews, but i usually come to this location to have some late night food. Service is usually good. Although, tonight, we had Grant as our server.
I usually order my usual: Mozzarella Sticks Original Slam and a Dessert of some kind.
Tonight, i ordered a chocolate milkshake as well, but our server forgot to give it to me.
I was saying my order, and he stopped me when i was about to say my dessert order. I felt taken aback, because i usually get the same things to order, and it made me feel like he implied that i won’t be able to finish the food.
I work in the service industry myself as a server, and i never assumed someone can or can’t finish something they are ordering.
Even if i ended up not being able to finish my order, i would’ve taken it home. It was just very shocking that one would be told “you should take a step back and order this first”. I get that, but having been a server myself, i wouldn’t have stopped my customer because they are ordering “a lot” just because of assumption.
That comment was very unnecessary, and honestly killed my appetite and mood tonight.
The pancakes that came with my slam was also dry and hard to eat, and I couldn’t finish it.
When it came to pay, the milkshake was still on my bill, and I asked it to be removed since, I never really got it.
Overall, i loved going to this place, but tonight was just a bad...
