Hansang Korean Cuisine — Restaurant in Calgary

UPDATE: Hansang still offers the best Pajeon around. They are the only ones that do not offer carb-heavy seafood pancakes. The food is so consistent and superior to other Korean restaurants.

This restaurant opened this year and is so close to home, so we gotta try it.

The restaurant was full of koreans when we entered so we knew things would be good.

The Seafood Pancake was the best that we have had in Calgary. It was exactly how we like it - packed with seafood and minimal cakey floury parts. The pancake was crispy, and each bite tasted great while not too oily.

The Budae Jjigae was a feast to behold. This was the star of the night even though we loved the Seafood Pancake. The amount of ingredients and the cohesive flavors just made this hotpot a fantastic meal to share. I would come back for this alone.

We also got a simplified Janchi Gooksoo for the kids. The server was awesome and suggested this dish as he has kids himself. I got a taste and found the broth so simple and refreshing. The noodles were delicately inviting. My kids loved this.

From the moment you step into Hansang Korean Cuisine it’s a game changer. The ambience is relaxing yet elegant, with beautiful cherry blossom trees adding a serene touch.

Every detail is thoughtfully curated even the serving bowls and plates are top-notch quality, making you feel as if you’re fine dining right in the heart of Korea.

The space is spotless and well maintained, including restrooms in pristine condition.

The staff are genuinely warm, attentive, and welcoming, setting the tone for an exceptional experience.

And the food? Truly unforgettable. The bibimbap was hands down the best I’ve ever had fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. My picky eater daughter couldn’t get enough of it!

Their house-made samjang was so good I wish they sold it by the jar!

The miso soup was another standout—perfectly seasoned, never too salty or too bland like so many others in Calgary.

The pork belly was cooked to perfection and served with an incredible variety of side dishes that complemented every bite.

Visiting Calgary from Toronto and we're craving for K food. Found this restaurant on Google with great reviews and it did not disappoint. Service: excellent - very friendly staff and came to our table often to check on us. Atmosphere: clean and organized; we're there for lunch but I could tell this would be a great place for dinner and drinks. Food: excellent - pork bone soup and the cold noodles hit the spot, the seafood pancake was full of ingredients but what impressed me the most was the Bossam; the pork was very tender and juicy. We've lots, and been to many K restaurants in Toronto and most of the time was for a specific dish as a lot of them are only good for a thing or two on their menus.
