I had food from here 4 times and my experiences have been 50/50. Love the service and atmosphere but the food just made such a difference.

the first time was within the first three months when they first opened. I ordered take out because the place was busy. ordered various sushi and kitchen items, and the food was amazing! my family and I loved it and enjoyed it a lot. we were thrilled to have this place around the area.

the second time was delivery through ubereats, probably couple months after the first time. we ordered few of the same items from the first time because we loved it, but the food quality was not good. it was to a point that we have to force ourselves to finish to not waste the food. i understand sushi quality may not be as good through delivery, but i have ordered sushi delivery countless times from many places and rarely encountered this, so i thought it may be the delivery guy.

the third time was dine in with a friend after a year. once again, the food was phenomenal! the servers were all very nice and attentive. the food was the best sushi i have tasted in a while. my favorite was aki ebi. i dare to say it was the best aki ebi in calgary at that time.

then the fourth was me trying to introduce some fds to this place, and we ordered take out. the take out was quick and the staff was nice when i picked it up. however when we got to the food, it was so so, just average. we ordered aki ebi (because it was sooo good last time) but ended up getting amaebi which was disappointing. i dont know if they mixed up the order or just sold out of aki ebi. if they did not have aki ebi, i would not have ordered any ebi at all.

i would hope that the quality can be consistent, not so much of a hit or miss. it would be amazing to try out this place if the food quality can be as good as the first and...

We are a family with a 5 year old who is a little picky eater right now. The first time we went, we got a side of rice and a side of Ramen noodles for the little one they gave us a hard time about ordering a side of Ramen noodles without the soup. I said we will get the soup if we have to but we don’t feel like soup. They brought just the noodles. The food was good. We enjoyed the salmon sushi as well as the aburi salmon rolls. Drinks were on happy hour. Overall, we enjoyed the food in the atmosphere the service was ok but we felt a little guilt trip over asking for a Ramen side. We decided to try them again last night and again we asked for the side of Ramen. This time we were told it was a definite no they can’t do a side of Ramen…. I just said really it’s just a side of noodles and you can’t do it for a five-year-old? The lady said I’ll call the manager or owner and ask and came back to tell us that she can do the side of Ramen this time but never again.

So fine we won’t come back if you’re going to make your customers feel guilty about ordering food that’s on your menu then don’t expect them to return. I know one customer not coming back won’t make or break your business but as a small business owner myself, I have a hard time understanding what is difficult about selling a side of Ramen noodles to a five-year-old Customer to make them happy why do you need to make your customers feel guilty over ordering a side of Noodles? And just for the record, it wasn’t a one off. It happened two times both times we came we were made to feel guilty about...

Came in at 7:45 when they close at 9:00, it wasn’t busy and they tried to shove the 3 of us into a 2 person table. After waiting like 20 minutes to get tea the server told us there was no sushi rice. We immediately left, then as we were leaving we saw the server giggling. As others have mentioned the service here is horrendous. Haven’t had good experiences with service here before but this tops it off. We were told last call was 8:30 not 8:05.

Update: It’s good that they went through the surveillance it should be pretty evident that the server was extremely unwilling to seat us in the booth. It wasn’t until my father brought it up that she reluctantly let us sit there. That and the timeline she mentioned also is pretty inaccurate since between the time we got the tea there was another table that was seated and on top of that we asked for some clarification on the menu. It didn’t happen in 5 minutes. It didn’t happen at the same time but pretty close that I didn’t even get a chance to drink the tea. She mentions busy but also forgets to mention that as we were seated she told us about the last call hours so does she expects to turn over more tables after last call. Ridiculous how they try to twist my words. If you read the 1 star reviews you can see that my experience with no sushi rice isn’t unique. A fellow named Johnathan Yap experienced the same coming in ahead of closing time just to find out 20 minutes later that they don’t have sushi rice. Maybe they should release footage with timestamp of when we first sat down and when we left...

Pretty bad experience with their food and service! I usually give restaurant 5 stars review! I am surprised that I received that kind of service from this place. I heard some good reviews from friends about this restaurant before we got to try it. We went tonight! And ordered a brunch of dishes. Everything’s presentation are good! (as you can see the picture attached) however, they taste not as good tho. Premium sashimi 12…. 3/5 taste not fresh and fishy smells every single piece Assorted tempura…3/5 taste not bad, but I am not a fan of their dipping sauces, sweeter too little for 8 piece of tempura Scallop motoyaki…2/5 taste average and they have fridge/freezer taste inside of the it Miso Ramen… 2.5/5 noodle, pork and the broth are actually good, the reason why I gave it 2.5/5 because the egg is EXPIRED. You can tell the egg is old. I am not the first time having ramen egg! I can even reman egg myself at home! Anyways, I hate writing bad reviews. The reason why I do this because I am very annoyed with their service! Since I found out their egg is not good and they should not serve it to other customers. I told their server about it. And the young girl told their manger and she came back told us very sorry about it. And the manage will get back to us later. But manager gets back to us at all, even we asked about it. One more thing, we asked for a glass of water 2 times and we never get our water during the night at all! After dinner, I got home with a bit stomach ache, not sure if it is from the egg, since I had 1/4 of the egg.

The first meal features a beautifully arranged sashimi platter, served on a bed of ice with a decorative shell garnish. The assortment includes vibrant slices of salmon, tuna, shrimp, and scallops, accompanied by garnishes like lemon, wasabi, and pickled ginger. The fresh, colorful presentation was complimented by high-quality seafood, and the icy base keeping it chilled, enhancing the experience. The variety of textures and the clean, elegant plating make it visually appealing and promising for a fresh, delicate taste. The second meal presents a small bowl of seafood salad containing raw octopus, with ingredients like seaweed, roe, and greens, served alongside seaweed sheets and soy sauce. The dish was fresh and vibrant, with a mix of textures from the soft seafood and crunchy vegetables. The accompanying condiments suggest a customizable flavor profile, adding to its appeal for those who enjoy a hands-on dining experience. The third meal highlights a bowl of roasted Brussels sprouts, glazed with a dark sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds. The sprouts are cooked to a crisp exterior with a tender inside, and the glossy sauce giving a sweet-and-spicy flavor. The rustic presentation in a textured bowl adds a cozy, homey touch to this dish, making it a standout side or vegetarian option. Overall, these dishes reflect a blend of freshness, creativity, and attention to detail, offering a satisfying and diverse dining experience.

The quality and portion of the food, especially the sashimi was impressive. I don't think I've ever seen such thick cuts of sashimi in Calgary before. We had the bluefin tuna and hamachi sashimi and it was just immaculate. Most of the rolls come with 4 pieces but are delicious and the aburi sushi comes in pieces of 6. Usually most restaurants serve sushi in pieces of 6 to 8 so I wasn't sure what to expect but the aburi was huge compared to other aburi I've had elsewhere. It was full of fish and flavourful with the sauce (the salmon volcano aburi). It was a large roll not because of rice but because of the actual ingredients that come together to make the roll what it is. I went in wondering if paying the same amount for 4 pieces when I could get 6 elsewhere was worth it but after our meal we felt that it was worth it. The tataki was flavored beautifully, I just love the tartness of the flavouring. The ika geso was tiny squids deep fried on a stick served with aioli, like eating a calamari skewer. I didn't find this dish particularly special, I think I prefer grilled squid more than deep fried at Japanese restaurants, otherwise it tasted akin to regular calamari. Overall the taste was great, service was quick and friendly, and the selection was varied. I would definitely come back (especially for the sashimi which was definitely the highlight of the meal for me)
