This is the worst McDonald's in the city.
I don't care about customer service/politeness at a fast food spot.
Just be knowledgeable of the menu, take the order correctly, and try to not take forever.
This place has been open for about 10 months. It's just as slow as it was on day 1.
Only use the drive through. It's still slow compared to any other McDonald's, but any other method of ordering food is unbelievably slow.
Any method of ordering that requires you to go inside is the lowest priority speed wise. The kiosk is faster than the counter. The kiosk is also faster than the mobile app which makes no sense. You can literally go across the street in the Condo parking lot, order on the app. Yes, your GPS location is close enough that the app will let you choose your pick up method. Go with at the counter pick up. It will provide your order number and say it's sent to the kitchen/being made. Now walk to the restaurant and order the same thing on the Kiosk. The first order you placed using the app will not show up on their being made / now serving screen. So go up to the counter and ask if they have it. They will say it's being made. 10 mins later your identical order from the Kiosk will be served before the one placed through the app, even though the app based order had a 3 minute advantage.
If you live next door in the condo, and have a unit directly beside the McDonald's, the fastest method is to order on the app, pay, choose drive thru pick up, and because you live close enough it will be sent to the kitchen as the app thinks you're at the store. Then go down and grab your car, so you're not a weirdo standing in the drive thru by your self. Do not pick in store pick up, it will get pushed to low priority due to it being an at the counter order now.
Pre-ordering on the app and choosing mobile pick up is also slower than the drive through which makes no sense. When you get to your parking stall, your GPS location will be close enough for the order to execute and be sent to the kitchen. Cars that have not even reached the drive thru speaker will get their food before you.
Have you ever seen a McDonald's with 400+ 1star reviews. It's actually impress at how terrible it is.
The employees are nice, but all they do is apologize without correcting the actual issues. It's beyond obvious that the manager/trainer/supervisors are worthless, as zero improvement has been made over a 10 month span. The issues persist regardless of the variables at play. Meaning the day of the week, time of day, method of ordering, order size, employees on shift, or anything else will still result in exceedingly slow service with missed items, and food quality issues. That means every employee is performing at a level that is substandard in comparison to every McDonald's you have been to, and that can only happen when management is the root issue.
This is the worst thing I have ever come across throughout my entire life.
I don't even use my google account, and I think Google reviews are mostly worthless. I also still believe the average person who posts reviews for fast food chains is generally over reacting or behaves in a way that plays a major part in their experience. Not this place, it's the worst...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE. GO TO THE MCDONALD'S 4KM WAY IN COUNTRY HILLS!
I am usually reluctant to leave negative reviews but this is probably the worst McDonald's I've ever been to, in terms of physical layout, service, product offering.
In regards to the physical layout of this McDonald's, there is only one entrance tucked away around the corner, making it difficult for people to find, as well as difficult for the staff to deliver curb-side orders.
The service is consistently bad and I've received incorrect/incomplete orders more times than I can keep track of.
If you feel like you can overlook the bad service, I would like to mention something completely objective: the menu offerings and prices are not the same here at this McDonald's. For example, you can not order a Hot Cakes Extra Value Meal here - the staff will tell you that it does not exist. The prices for many, many items here are higher than the McDonald's 4kms away in Country Hills. The 20 piece Chicken McNuggets cost $15.99 here - $4.20 MORE than the McDonald's in Country Hills. When I spoke to someone about this at the Country Hills location, they let me know that the Country Hills location is corporate McDonald's and the one in Carrington is a franchisee.
It's a shame that this McDonald's was built directly adjacent to the skate park in the nice community of Carrington. If it had great service, great food and championed community values, it would be an asset to the neighbourhood. This is not the case.
Am I asking too much from McDonald's? Maybe. It's the most unsettling to think that the owner of this franchise McDonald's is still profiting from the community and probably couldn't care less about the countless negative experiences you can see in other Google Reviews here.
I have ranted and rambled way too much. I would avoid spending money at this McDonald's. It's hard for me to even publicly admit that I've been there...

Came in at around 10:30 pm, the store was almost basically empty except for the workers/employees. I also witnessed an female employee from that same store give their family member free food. Assuming this because they seemed like siblings based on how they were talking to each other; Employee was asking what they wanted to eat and just gave it. None of my business, but doing this in-front of other customers is just completely unprofessional.
Placed my order at 10:30, and I stood there waiting for almost half an hour. The employees behind the counter were all just giving me confused looks. Still no food received. I assumed they forgot about my order but still gave them the benefit of doubt and waited a bit more. Then A male employee came up to me saying if they could help me with anything. Are you kidding me? I told them about how I’ve been waiting for half an hour and he just told me it would be a couple of seconds. No sorry given out at all. Mind you the store was basically empty at this rate
Then, when I received my food. It just got even worse from there. My sprite didn’t even taste like sprite (just water and ice) , nor was it even full. *Mind you, they do not even have a drink refill station, so you would think they’d fill it up.) My Oreo Mcflurry was not even mixed at all either. Quite literally just looked like a cup filled with oreo chunks.
You think that since the wait time was half an hour, the food would be decent. Was not at all.
I never leave reviews, but this Mcdonalds is just down...
