I recently visited Sollara Yemeni restaurant for a family dinner, and I must say it was a disappointing experience. Despite having previously enjoyed good food and service, this time was a complete letdown. The lone waitress/ attendant on duty was incredibly rude and impolite. To make matters worse, the table we were seated at was dirty from the previous customers, clearly showing a lack of attention to cleanliness.
We ordered the family platter for four, expecting a variety meat as shown in menu pictures including two different kinds of rice lamb chicken and beef kababs. However, the food was served cold and seemed old. Despite the menu picture stating otherwise, we were only served one kind of rice and only chicken and beef kababs, and when I inquired about lamb kabab missing, I was met with dismissiveness and excuses from the staff that picture in the menu is wrong and we need to change it.
I was charged a $15 for a single piece of Mandi chicken(single piece only no rice no sauce no salad ), which is outrageous by any standard. When I raised my concerns with the waitress/ attendant she had the audacity to blame their understaffing and fatigue, as it was busy day and even argued with me instead of acknowledging their mistakes. She never accepted the mistake and asked for discount which I refused and I paid the full bill over 100$ and left.
Overall, this was the worst experience as I am the owner of three chain restaurants in Calgary .I am deeply disappointed and will not be returning to Sollara Yemeni...
