Excited to go and try this tonight as I’ve heard they’re a great spot for authentic tacos in the city but unfortunately I had quite a frustrating experience. Shared chips and guacamole and salsa for a starter. This was really yummy and all was fresh and tasted amazing. All food came out super fast and the staff were all very friendly! For main I ordered 4 tacos based on their website (this was my fault as I was looking at the Memorial location website) but received 6 without being told this would be the case. I had figured it was my fault or they had menu changes so I went along with it and I received 3 al pastor and 3 carne asada for $20 based on their dine in menu. My al pastor tacos didn’t have any pineapple chunks and the meat on both was pretty bland and overpowered by onions/cilantro which are tastes I love but shouldn’t overpower the meat. I then asked if they sold Inca Kola or Colombiana and they said no but they sell Mexican Kola so I said I would try that instead thinking it would be a similar Latin American Kola but it was just a bottled Coca Cola imported from Mexico. When I went to pay I was then charged for fajitas that someone else at my table had ordered and are $22. I pointed out that I didn’t get the fajitas but I was told that my tacos were the same price which contradicts their menu pricing of $20. I wouldn’t have cared except my expectation of this meal going into it went from 4 tacos at $13 to 6 tacos at $22. I just let it go, paid, and walked away knowing that I likely won’t be going back and probably won’t be...
Read moreI had to edit my previous review. Previously I said it was 4 star and would come back again. Now I'm not so sure.
After a good experience the first time I told friends and family about tacos mexico and a group of us decided to go for a meal.
The waiter took our group order but seemed distracted while doing so. We ordered entrees for 8 people along with two starters After about 40 minutes the first entrees started trickling out to our table. Wanting to eat as a group the people who received their meal waited for everybody to get their entree. Still no starters in sight. After about 10 more minutes and only 3 entrees we decided to eat our meal as it was getting cold. A few more entrees came out shortly after. We asked about the starters and they said it would be out soon. The starters came out after most were done their entree and one person still did not have their entree. By the time the final entree came out everybody was done eating. When we questioned the wait staff about this they didn't seem to understand the problem of our disjointed meal timing.
Obviousy the standard for any restaurant is for the starters to come first and all entrees at the same time.
This was a really frustrating as I reccomended this restaurant to the group and nobody enjoyed it. Cuts down on my credibility. I...
Read moreI have been coming to this place for a long time and usually love it! I decided to order some food for pickup and I was told 5 minutes so I walked there which probably took me less than that. I arrived and went to the back and my food was brought out right away but I was told the machines weren’t working so I had to wait unless I had cash. I didn’t because i’m paranoid and just took my phone. then the woman who seems like the manager started talking to someone else, so i just awkwardly stepped to the side and witnessed so much disorganization and chaos with skip and doordash order while my food was sitting on the counter getting cold. I just thought there could’ve been a way to keep it warm while i had to wait. she had someone etransfer her their money after their meal so I was confused as to why I couldn’t do that while my food was getting cold. She also gave free drinks to the other customers because of the inconvenience but I wasn’t offered anything and was probably the most inconvenienced. as soon as she tried to get the payment from me it worked. The food was more bland than I remembered (especially the refried beans) but still super good. It seems like disorganized chaos, but if you’re more toward the front the atmosphere is...
