Tim Hortons Drive-Thru Review â Disappointing Service in Calgary, AB Iâm usually hesitant to write negative reviews, but my recent experience at a Tim Hortons drive-thru in Calgary on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, around 10 AM, left me and my visiting friend utterly shocked and disappointed. While the coffee itself was fine, the serviceâor lack thereofâwas nothing short of appalling. Unacceptable Rudeness at the Window As we pulled up to the payment window, the staff member (a young woman) had the credit card machine ready. I politely informed her that Iâd be paying with my Tim Hortons app through a gift card. Instead of a simple acknowledgment, she sighed audibly and gave me a look of clear annoyance. I brushed it off initially, thinking she might just be having a rough day. However, things quickly escalated. When I realized my gift card balance on the app didnât cover the full amount, I apologized sincerely and offered to pay the remainder with Apple Pay. Her reaction was beyond unprofessionalâshe looked at me with visible disgust and made a snarky, rude comment along the lines of, âNow I have to change it back to credit card.â Her tone was dripping with impatience and disdain, as if my request was a personal inconvenience. My friend, who was visiting and experiencing Tim Hortons for the first time, couldnât believe the level of rudeness either. It was embarrassing to have him witness such poor customer service at a place Iâd hyped up as a Canadian staple. Poor Handling of the Order The unpleasantness didnât stop there. When handing over the four coffees we ordered, her demeanor was just as cold and dismissive. She practically shoved the cups at me, handling the transaction as if it were a burdensome chore rather than her job. There was no attempt at courtesy, no âthank you,â and certainly no smile. It felt like we were an inconvenience from start to finish. A Pattern of Poor Service Iâve visited numerous Tim Hortons locations across Calgary, and sadly, this experience isnât an isolated incident. Iâve left similar reviews and complaints about the consistently subpar service, rude attitudes, and lack of basic courtesy from staff at various locations. Itâs disheartening to see such a sense of entitlement and disregard for customer service becoming the norm at a chain thatâs supposed to represent Canadian hospitality. The only reason I visited this particular location was to grab coffee for my visiting friend, hoping to share a positive experience. Instead, I was left apologizing to him for the staffâs behavior.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the repeated poor service I have encountered at this location . On September 1, 2024, at around 2 PM, I ordered a Hazelnut Chocolate Cold Beverage. Despite repeating my order over five times in a very clear manner, I was disappointed to receive a basic iced coffee instead. This is not an isolated incident, as I have frequently received incorrect orders from this location.
Additionally, the quality of the food is consistently subpar. The hash browns are often overcooked and dry, which is extremely disappointing.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at the drive-through, where I was served by an employee named REET. From the moment I interacted with her, it was clear that professionalism and courtesy were not a priority. REET displayed a complete lack of respect, responding in a dismissive and rude manner to my questions. I felt like my concerns were being ignored, and the overall tone of the interaction was unwelcoming and unprofessional.
The drive-through experience, which should be quick and efficient, was instead marred by REETâs behavior, which created an uncomfortable and frustrating atmosphere. Such a lack of respect for customers is unacceptable, and I sincerely hope that this issue is addressed to ensure that future interactions are more positive and respectful.
The customer service in the drive-thru is also severely lacking. The staff members rush through the order-taking process, often failing to greet customers properly or even confirm orders before they are processed. Following my disappointing experience on May 29, Iâm happy to share that the situation has been taken very seriously and handled with excellence by both Bhavna and the Owner. Today, Bhavna personally came in just to address the issueâtalk about dedication! She made me feel like I was the only customer in the Franchise and that level of care is rare and truly appreciated. Huge kudos as well to the Owner for managing things behind the scenes and making sure this was resolved the right way. Loyalty means everything to me, and today I felt it was genuinely reciprocated.
Bhavnaâs commitment to customer satisfaction deserves full recognitionâshe turned things completely around with grace, professionalism, and a big smile. I sincerely hope sheâs given the best opportunity within the franchise. Sheâs a true gem and a reflection of what great customer service should be. Original Review Sent 29th May 2025: Todayâs experience at Timâs was nothing short of the worst Iâve seen in terms of service and management. Not only was there no acknowledgment or appreciation for customers, but the staff and franchise owner made it painfully clear that the only priority is squeezing out sales and profit, no matter the cost to basic decency. Itâs disgraceful that a company like yours continues to hand out franchises to such careless and unprofessional owners. Shame on you. Iâm completely done with this location.
