My husband and I recently stumbled upon Freska Cafe while driving through Carleton Place, and boy were we impressed! From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the warm and welcoming ambiance. The decor was charming and rustic, and the server greeted us with a big smile and friendly conversation.
As soon as we perused the menu, it was clear that this was a farm-to-table establishment. Every item on the menu was fresh, locally-sourced, and made from scratch. We decided to try brunch, and we were blown away by how delicious it was. My husband ordered the classic breakfast, which included perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, and fluffy pancakes. I opted for the avocado toast, which was piled high with fresh avocado, cherry tomatoes, and a perfectly poached egg. Both dishes were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
What really set Freska Cafe apart, however, was their liquor license. We were delighted to discover that we could order a mimosa and a Caesar to accompany our breakfast. The drinks were expertly crafted and the perfect complement to our meal.
Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with our experience at Freska Cafe. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through Carleton Place or looking for a fresh and delicious farm-to-table dining experience. We will be back even if it’s a bit of a drive for us,...
Read moreOur family doesn't eat out very often, current world situation not withstanding, and when we do we come here for breakfast. I'd venture to say its about once a month.
The staff is always friendly and service is prompt. Not sure if it's the owner that comes out from the kitchen but every time we've been there (in person) a gentleman comes out from the back and speaks with customers. No crazy soul searching conversations about the origins of man or anything just a pleasant "how was your meal?" or a "Thanks for coming in, appreciate your buisness". We feel like he's a pretty genuine guy and hospitality is key in this buisness.
Now some people might say that it's a bit more on the expensive side for a breakfast and i kind of want to agree with them but what those same people don't realize is that you pay for what you get and the quality of the food and service is worth the extra few bucks.
Don't like spending a few extra shekels? Them go to any of the other half dozen greasy spoons here in town and you will see the difference.
Seriously.... the breakfast bowls, they're delicious and...
Read moreCarleton Place local breakfast place to go to. I visited for the first time on Sunday for a quick breakfast and just got lucky they had a spot at the bar, otherwise the lineup was to the entrance. Hint: if you do not want to wait, make your reservation in advance if you are planning for a nice breakfast out.
The place was busy, yet clean, orderly and seemed to work as a well-oiled machine.
The menu is plentiful, just got a bit confusing as breakfast can come in a bowl or a plate - not sure why the difference, but anyway.
You may order fresh squeezed juice, which is prepared right in front of you (interesting basketball-like device).
The veggie omlette was great tasting, although wish it was a bit bigger portion, but that is just me.
All in all, very refreshing, tastefully decorated and worth...
