Eataria Unlimited — Restaurant in Carleton Place

We found this place via Google maps & decided to give it a try. The few reviews I read seemed positive and as we were entering the restaurant, I asked a lady who was just leaving about the food, and she said, "It's excellent... best place around for good food." It definitely wasn't busy, however we were there around 7:30 on a Thursday evening. The server was very friendly & accommodating, and didn't rush us at all. Hubby & I each decided from the large list of "special meals," which were $13.95 each; this included our choice of soup, meal + rice pudding for dessert. I chose mushroom soup & wings, hubby chose tomato vegetable soup fish & chips. The soups looked homemade, but unfortunately, I couldn't eat mine because there were onions in it... who puts onions in mushroom soup?? I thought I was safe ordering that (I get a severe gastric reaction after eating onions 😬), however the server quickly offered that I could have tomato juice instead. Updated Review (April 2024) - The Triple Decker Club Sandwhich has gone extremely downhill. Burnt bread, lots of grizzle, hard pieces and fat threw out the ... chicken(?). Fries were under cooked and soggy yet we asked for extra crispy. Gravy was watery and tasteless. Bacon burnt. The sandwich this was so gross we didn't eat it and the fries were barely touched. Waste of money and time picking it up.

If this is their new standard I no longer recomend their club. Go to the Thirsty Moose and pay the extra few dollars because you won't regret it, theirs is delicious, edible and consistant.

Ordered at 4:33 two hot hamburger platters. One with fries gravey on the side and one with onion rings and a country club platter with fries and the gravey on the side. I asked how long and was told 30 to 40 minutes. Got the two hamburger platters within 30 min but not the country club platter. So i called back right away. I explained the problem and waitress was all appologetic. Husband and son tried to eat their platters and fries and rings were soggy and hamburger was raw. They fed their food to the dogs. Waited well over an hour for the country club and finally called and told them I was cancelling my order. Also told him about the other order and we would not be ordering from there again.
